Emblem Placement On Rear Decklid
I am having my trunk deck lid repaired and painted because someone damaged it with a shopping cart or something similar.
Meaning the body shop must remove the XJL, Jaguar, leaper, and Collection emblems from the trunk to repaint and clear coat.
The repair shop said that many manufacturers don’t provide information on proper placement of the emblems.
Does anyone here have a template with measurements to show exactly where they need to be installed?
I don’t want someone “eyeballing” the installation once the paint work is finished.
Thanks in advance!!

Daniel, the leaper in the middle of the trunk lid has guide holes. So, if they mess that one up, they tried.
As for the other emblems, I can't imagine that they are that messed up on the trunk that the body shop can't measure what is currently on the trunk lid and use that for their reference. That way, the same person taking the measurements can be the one installing the letters and knowing how he measured them to get the proper positioning.

Daniel, what you may want to consider is not having them put the pieces back on. Some find that there is too much going on with the back of the car and they simply leave the leaper and remove the "XJ" and the motor size lettering off. Some say with that stuff gone, there isn't enough there. So, ask if you can see the back of the car before they put on the lettering and decide.
