Those look nice. Interestingly, they also look different than the ones on the other poster's cars; there is no groove in the top of yours.

Is this a genuine Jaguar accessory part? Any part# available?

Hi RoonieQ, These are the factory units that I purchased through my Jaguar Dealership (Northpoint Jaguar Land Rover) in Georgia. After your response I noticed the center vane was not visible so I cleaned the tips and here are some additional photos.

Thanks for the additional shots. Really appreciate it. Very nice.

I've done some further enquiring at a few dealerships and it seems that Jag has replaced the original part with a new one and has also changed the design somewhat from the original. I'm not sure why, but have heard two reasons:
1- chrome peeling off of originals
2- originals had problems with fitment

No idea where the truth lies here, but the original part is no longer available for order (at least not in North America).

Cheers!

RoonieQ I ordered and purchased these in February this year and the part #is C2D25247. They do not appear to be chrome but appear to be handmade polished stainless steele

Interesting. That would seem to support the alleged chrome issues with the original.

I have the originals and yes the chrome is starting to come off where the screw meets with the exhaust tip. But not noticeable.

They slide over the stock tips and are held on with a supplied bolt. Check out some photos of them uncounted on this thread: https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...modded-124114/

The standard OEM finisher clamps on to the tailpipe. The nut is visible in all 4 photos. Really easy to remove and reinstall with a socket wrench.

The split tips install over the standard tip that is pictured by Stuart S and the accessory tip bolt uses that slot on the bottom of the standard tip.

I have been thinking about adding the finisher to my car. The cost is now $470.00. I guess since they are no longer chrome but polished SS the cost has been reduced.
It seems that the OEM finisher is polished SS so the only difference I see in the two is the center vane. If this is the case I am pondering the center vane being worth $470.00. I have to admit I do find the look tempting.

I am wondering if MDabney has the first tail pipe finishers manufactured as they appear to be chrome and there is a notch in the upper and lower lip of the finisher that lines up with the center vane.
The new polished ss finisher does not have this notch in the upper and lower part of the lip that lines up with the center vane.
What has me on the fence from purchasing these finishers is that I was drawn to the fact that I thought they were chrome but now that they are polished ss, the only difference between these and the OEM is the center vane.
The accessories that I have added to my car are: Plastic Trunk Mat, Illuminated Tread Plate both front and rear, Illuminated Trunk (Boot) Finisher and Growler Chrome Lug Nuts.

Mine are the SS version. From what i have heard, the reason that they were changed is that Jaguar was getting a lot of negative feedback on the chrome tips as the chrome was pealing.

Yes MHT, they are the "original" chrome finishers, got them way back when they first came out. I prefer the look with the "notch" much more than the newer SS ones available now. Good luck with your decision.

Stuart the SuperSort came with the standard exhaust tips not quads.

XJsss,

You're right. I stand corrected; round quad exhaust tips were introduced on the 2014 XJR.

For more XJR photos, see http://www.caranddriver.com/photo-ga...nd-info-news#7

If this was helpful, please press at the bottom right.
