Default Finally a night at the Drag strip! Big Jaguar XJ SC 5.0 Racing at 1/4th mi

It's been a while since I hit a 1/4mi drag strip. Unfortunately most tracks near San Diego have closed after covid for whatever reason, and the nearest one is now a long five-hour drive to Bakersfield. It was a busy night with a long wait—four hours for just two runs, didn't help that like on nights when there's a lot of modded civics, they break down at the track and slow things down but that's the way it goes sometimes . Despite the minimal mods on my 2013 XJ SC —crank pulley, intake, ECU& TCU remap (full stock exhaust still) with DA around 1600, car did not perform too badly! Could have pushed more with the 60ft , but ran out of time at midnight. Low 11s definitely can be had with a better 60 ft

Cool that you did that. I would love a sleeper Jag. What are the distances on the receipt?

Cool thread. What did it put down on the dyno and what are your AFRs/timing under boost?
I'd be interested in seeing before and after dyno sheets on the stock intake versus your short ram intake. Your intake looks like it takes in hotter (less dense) air under the hood than the stock setup, which takes air from in front of the radiator.

We have full enclosures for the intakes if customer wants but haven't seen a need for them, plus supercharger whine is a lot more pronounced this way. Intake temperatures stay stock like driving around town and at the track, there are good openings to get fresh air under once you remove factory boxes, plus all materials used is plastic and paper, no metal so low heat transfer . Air filters are paper so OEM filtration , no oil, no metal mesh which transfers more heat and allows more oil and dirt. I have seen around 15hp gain from this intake setup.
haven't Dynoed this car but probably close to 600 to the wheels . It's not my first rodeo been tuning these for a while! Started back on 4.2 xkr and set some records on that one, then moved on to Denso 5.0 cars with 6 spds set some records with mid to low 10sec cars and now unto newer platform with Bosch 5.0 and 8spds transmission which are in all newer 5.0 cars fpace, ftype, XJ Facebook.com/alphajagtuning plenty of reviews there and plenty of ppl running our remaps if you check on Facebook forums. We do ECU, TCU tuning , have crank and upper pulleys, Intakes and so on..

Interesting. I'd definitely be interested in hearing the blower whine a bit louder.

Out of curiosity, what sort of fuel economy do you get?

As good as factory on highway if not better 26+ mpg very easily. Really no downsides being remaped other than having pretty much hellcat levels of power at your disposal 😁😉

Nice! Is your car Denso or Bosch? I forgot when they made the switch.
