GPS DVD player location X351 XJ
Hi, I have bought a 2010 X351 XJ.
I have also bought an official GPS map update for Australia on DVD from Tom Tom/Jaguar.
Problem is I can't find out the location of the GPS DVD player to insert the disc into. The car definitely has GPS! Wondering if it needs a map update on USB stick instead (but the navshop swears that this car should have DVD-based GPS)! Tried the boot and even removing the boot lining on the left side of the boot to no avail. Any suggestions?
PS The hilarious part is that in desperation I dropped into my local Jaguar delaer's service deprtment today and they couldn't find it either! Their excuse was that their master technician is not working today, so I should come back next week sometime!

Hi, and welcome to both the ownership ‘club’ and the forum.
My 2010 X351 uses memory stick based navigation updates. It is a fairly fraught procedure, but I have successfully completed it. I don’t think any X351s have DVD based updates.
I assume that you will need the australian equivalent of what Jaguar over here call “incontrol touch plus gen 2.1”, which comes on a memory stick, and requires a VIN specific activation code.
Try having a look here: https://jaguar.navshop.com.au/ - I am geographically blocked from seeing it, so I can’t be sure, but that looks like a good place to start.

As stated before the map updates for the x351 in North America is on a USB stick that is inserted in the USB plug in the center console. When it starts to load it will need an activation key/number. Then the update will start. It takes more than 2 hours and will update while you drive and if it does not finish it will pickup from where it left off if you need to park the XJ. If a dealer sold you a DVD you may want to check here as it appears your GPS is different from ours: https://jaguar.navshop.com.au/shopcontent.asp?type=faq

That's the mob I bought from and they swear it should be a DVD not USB.
It seems they were wrong. Will have to contact them (again) and ask for a USB stick. I've already got the VIN specific activation code from their website.
Cheers

Even my 'old' X358 which updates from a DVD will completely reload the nav system and then the maps for western Europe (not just UK) in less than 15 mins.

2 hours is a wild underestimate in my experience. Updating from USB took me closer to four hours, spread over three days driving, with a plethora of unhelpful error messages keeping pucker-meters on full alert for the whole time. Mayhap it will be quicker from DVD!

i actually tried this and it says disc error
maybe a faulty dvd?
Will speak with an authorised dealer next week (again)
