The great paperwork mystery
Just moved to the Austin area. Took my XJL in for its 30k service. Noticed the paperwork was billed as the 45k. Called Jaguar and they said I had missed a service and that was what they had to bill.
Looked at my paperwork folder. Receipt was there for the 15k service. Arguments ensue and my Jag rep was oddly officious and stubborn repeating the same wrong story again and again like it was fact.
Faxed her my receipt and called Jag of Tulsa where the service was performed. Service manager was equally confused.
Next day get a call from Jag saying they were going to correct the problem and to take my car back next week to complete the 30k.
To be fair, the Jag rep did give me a credit towards the future service I would have now missed.
Just such an odd little adventure. Clearly, Jag needs to very very clearly state that maintenance needs to be performed within the year or else there will be problems. I think I was a couple months late for my first service, not knowing it was even an issue.

Jaguar service schedules are every 15K Miles OR 12 Months, whichever comes first.
Could it be this caused confusion with the Austin dealer on whether it was due the 30K or 45K schedule?
Sounds like you've come out of it ahead with the credit against future service but such confrontation is never pleasant on something that should be straightforward.

I had a similar problem. I had my car serviced for its annual oil change, and when I took it in about 6 months later for a warranty issue at a different dealer, when I picked up the car they told me I had missed my annual service and that they had done it. Turns out, the first dealer never entered the service into the system. The second dealer assured me there would be no problems with the warranty because of the "late" service, but I am still trying to get the record set straight.
