headliner removal
Hey Guys!
I have a 2012 XJL Portfilio, and the headliner is drooping a lot, espescially in the back seat. i wanna take it out and repair it, but i dont know how to get it out. I can handle the rapeir part, just wanna know how to get it out in the first place. Ive never done a headliner before, but this is definitely something i want to get taken care of and not let it hang over my head anymore (no pun intended). Any help would be appreciated!

Wanted to chime in since I did this a few years back.
Take it somewhere and have them do it.
Seriously.
I was quoted $600 or so in NYC and thought it was absurd. I bought my own fabric, got the headliner out after an absolute war through the rear door, and then had uh, you could say an accident that resulted in my windscreen being cracked which allowed me to place the headliner back in the car while it was getting "repaired".
It's hell. If yours is dropping in the back (Mine was the same), that means that there's already separation between the fabric and the backing. This stuff will get EVERYWHERE and is a pain to clean out of carpets and other bits of trim. There's also a million clips and you will break some. I've even got new replacement clips and it's still not held up correctly.
Any questions ask away.
