Hi. Can anyone point me in the right direction of where the heated seat module is?
I have unbolted both front seats but cannot locate the module itself.
Yikes! I've done this job and I can't remember if it's mounted under the carpet, or to the base of the seat itself! There is one per seat, and if you do need to replace it, it is a FoMoCo part that is common with the F-150 etc (don't pay silly JLR prices).
Hi wombat.
thanks for the reply, I literally searched everywhere under both seats but didn't raise the carpet. I have no issues removing the seat to get to it but just want to know what position it is before i start and i cannot locate a drawing anywhere for love nor money.
also how do you mean replace with f-150?
The more I think about it, it's located under the carpet, directly under the seat. You don't need to fully remove the seat, just undo the 4 bolts and tip the seat forwards. (Work from the backseat area with the front seat motored forwards). You can then follow the wiring harness back to where it enters a cut flap in the carpet.
The module is a Ford part that is used in numerous Ford vehicles including the F-150 series...Lots cheaper than a JLR part.
The modules under each seat are identical. You can test a module by swapping it between the seats and check for functionality.

(Still not 100% sure that it isn't mounted to the seat base!!!!!)
I can only find a "Climate Seat Module" in an XF? Looks like it's more towards the center console too.
Maybe behind the front screen AC controls?
It's item 16 in the diagram below. Not much help I am afraid for your XJ?
In my XJ manual I have this wonderfully descriptive sentence?
"Locate climate seat module, (refer to Electrical Information - Electrical Reference Library, contained in TOPIx) for
guidance on how to gain access to the connector(s)"
.

.
I can assure you that there is one per front seat, and they are under the seats. If you have heated rear seats, you will find 2 units behind the rear seat back.
hi, where did you get this diagram from, I'm having trouble locating my heated and cooled seat module in my 2014 xf, it is not under the floor or in either the passenger side or drivers side seat and it is doing my head in , looks like it is behind the glove on this, presuming this is right hand drive that is. any help would be appreciated
cheers
john

Hi Tim. I found one under the carpet by front passengers feet and I am certain that unit controls both front seats but I am being told otherwise, I've had all seats out and carpet up and there is defo only 1 at the front. The rear is under the bench seat though.
what troubles are you having?

The drivers side seat heating not working. Now after i have put the seat back, the forward and backwards motor also not working. Just my luck. Which model do you have? Mine is 2010 XJ 5.0 SC
Yours sounds like a wiring loom or wiring plug issue.
mine is 2010 3.0 portfolio diesel but my heated drivers seat won't work more than 20 seconds but my cooled seat and massage does work.
I found it. Mine is a right hand drive. The heater module is under the carpet under the front passenger seat. A kind chap named Vic Tor on Facebook gave me the tip. See pictures attached.

Tim Heated seat module location. Under the carpet under the front passenger seat.
