Help Caliper painting and during pad install
It shows my brake pads are worn and so is like to take off my calipers and repaint them to bring back out that bright red on my 16 XJR. However, I’m worried about having to bleed them and If it can be done at home when I disconnect them ? Didn’t know if it took special tools or electronics. Anyone have any thoughts on this process or recommends pads or paint or processes ? Thank you.

It's easy.
Both the brake pad replacement and caliper painting.
Nothing to worry about.
I have done both several times on my XFR and F-Type (exact same brakes as your XJR other than the rears pads, calipers and EPB on the F-Type), and I'm a total amateur with few skills and limited tools.
The secret to both is good preparation and research (plenty of info on this forum).
The only "special tool" you will need is a 9 mm hex driver for the front brake caliper slide pins, these are rarely included in hex driver sets but plenty are available on eBay.
By far the trickiest thing is replacing the front caliper anti-rattle clips, there is a knack or technique needed to do it easily and quickly.

It's up to you but now I clean and mask the calipers on the car. Much simpler and quicker.
The calipers are behind the wheels so things don't have to be perfect.
Are you replacing the Jaguar or putting a leaper sticker on the calipers?
My factory calipers with Jaguar on them were faded noticeably so needed to be redone.
I found a wide array of them on EBay for cheap prices. Just measure yours before ordering and mine were NOT an exact match size wise but close enough.
I then shot clear over the new paint and stickers.
Has held up pretty well and I did use brake caliper paint although I am not sure what's different about that paint?
If the wear indicator came on order new sensors (They are pretty cheap) or just bypass the entire thing by connecting the two wires together.
I change pads early (mainly because of the stock pads dusting so bad) so I don't have to mess with the wear indicators and can just reuse them since they are not worn in two.
Yes I also struggled with the retaining clip and scratched the paint a bit. They are a pain to install.

The 2016 is way easier as you will use the brake maintenance mode and don't need to push the caliper back.
I was able to simply clean the fronts and not even paint them again.
The back were not so lucky.

Because NvmyJag has a later XJR which went to separate EPB motors one on each caliper (same as my F-Type) while you have the earlier version with a single central EPB motor running a cable to each caliper (same as my old XFR). The dics/rotors are interchangeable but the rest is not.
