Help deciphering service codes
I'm looking at buying a used 2011 XJ SC. The seller provided a printout of the service he has had done but says he doesn't know what the problems were (interesting issue by itself). In any event, could any of you guys give me insight into what problems/issues are reflected by the following codes - hopefully it is nothing major, but the reference to the JLR Technical Center has me a bit concerned.

Looking at the work orders that I've had done to my car, below are the codes that I can see
K083B replaces the hood latch
K088C replaces the center console lid latch
K056X replaces the rear floor mat retention clip
K070X door lock and window software update
K075B fix sidelights that stays on
J019B re-torque wiper arm bolts
J020B updates the software for the cluster display
I've also had work done on the b-pillar rattles and the roof popping but there is no code associated with the work.

This was some correction made to a large number of the early cars; always done at the port as soon as they came off the boat. I know someone told me what it was, I just can't remember.
The JQA2 confirms the car was a 'reacquired vehicle', meaning a buyback for whatever reason. Now let me say this about the buyback thing before we go any further. Roughly 60% of vehicle buybacks are on vehicles that have absolutely nothing really wrong with them. Some people get soured on something and NOTHING will change their mind. The only thing they will accept is.........another vehicle. The rest have issues that are parts availability, delays or quirks that just involve time to correct. That's where the Jaguar Technical Center comes in. That's where the cars are taken and gone over and issues corrected with no time constraints. They are corrected and then covered with the Jaguar Quality Assurance and sold at auction. I would have no qualms about owning or driving a reacquired car. In one sense, I like them better because someone like me has gone over that car personally to make it right.
My two cents.......rest assured, others will differ.
Hope that helps! Enjoy your XJ.
Cheers,

This was incredibly helpful, thank you. The Seller just informed me thatthe vehicle had its engine replaced. I believe this was a very, very recent event and thus likely not reflected in the Codes - which means that it was a buyback that later had an engine replacement. I think that is a bit too much of a risk for me so I am walking. Thanks all for your assistance

Do you mean another Jaguar? Like they want their dealer to give them a replacement or another car in general like a Mercedes, etc ?

Thanks guys. I'm really on the fence here. I'm shopping this against an XFR and - not to be shallow - I really, really like the B&W stereo in the XJ much more than the XF. In fact, the stereo is so much better, I am now shopping this XJSC against a base XJ with the B&W.
So, here is my question: For same price, do you take the Base XJ with clean service record or the XJSC with sketchy service record but the Jag Quality Assurance warranty?
Additional info - I will likely sell the car in 2 years so the issues are really (i) daily enjoyment for those 2 years and (ii) resale value.

Thanks - I hear you but there is no doubt that I would prefer the SC if I'm not going to get killed financially on resale.
The real question is what kind of discount do you put on a car because it has a buyback/lemon stamp on the title? At the current 70 asking price on the SC, it appears to be about 5-6 thousand, as there are a number of <10K mileage XJSC listed in the 75-76 range.
So, is less than 10% discount for a lemon title worth it? How much discount would you apply to a lemon title if you were buying a used Jag?
