Thanks for this thread: I already have 6 or 7 obdii readers, but this one seems to be far above what my systems do, with much more capabilities going almost as far as some pro sysetms costing 5000+ USD... so I think I will order one...
Did anybody try if the battery registration/BMS reset did function on X150 and/or X351?
Same question for remote programming:, I suppose it may associate a virgin immobilizer transponder to the car, but certainly not program a new key into the car?
Thanks,
Thierry
I have not tried either of the two functions you are asking. Interested in hearing from others.
Well a great big thank you for that very detailed set of instructions!
Did you buy the other manufacturers packages?
My mistake was I had not downloaded the Jaguar specific software. Buying the HT200 gets you one package to install.
Installed the Jaguar package and went around and around a bit but finally got the service message reset.
Interesting in that the HT200 will also error out if the battery voltage is not 12.5 VDC or higher. So I had to plug in my power supply to keep the car at 13.4 VDC.
I encourage everyone to get the HT200. They are on EBay for under $50 which is a steal since it can reset the service indicator!
Cheapest way I can find to do it.
I also have a full SDD setup but with the cost and time involved the HT200 is just so much easier.

That scanner seems to be impressive. However, if all you want to do is reset the "Service Required" warning, there is a button sequence, as follows:
1. Press and hold the fog lamp button
2. Switch the ignition on - don't start the engine (i.e. press the start button without pushing the brake pedal)
3. Release the fog lamp button
4. Press and hold the trip button (end of the left stalk)
5. Press and hold the fog lamp button. You should see "Resetting Service" message.
These button presses have to be done in quick succession and you may find that you need some practice to get it to work. But it does work.

I thought it was confirmed the XJ had no service reset back door? Are you sure it is XJ and not XF?

Now you've questioned it, I'm not sure. As you say, it certainly works on the X250 (not sure about the X260) but I personally haven't tried it on my X351 yet (I'll be doing my own servicing once the warranty runs out).
I assumed it would - same engine, same overall set-up. But I'm always up to be proven wrong.
I have an "iCarsoft LR II" scanner/reader specifically for JLR vehicles and can reset the service counter with that.
As per Brutal a factory Jaguar tech there is no way to reset the service indicator except using a plug in tool. The factory guys do it with the SDD.
Yes other Jaguars have this very useful feature and I am surprised they did not include it on the XJ.

I wanted to report back as Chris has reported that the service indicator came back after several start/stop cycles. I have done about 8-10 power on/power off cycles and so far the service indicator has not returned.
So this has to be the cheapest and easiest way to turn it off so far.

Well I got my HT200, and the app just won't work. It keeps wanting me to input the serial number for the VIC (bluetooth reader) and I keep doing it, and it says it registers it fine, and then nothing happens. I guess the app is just junk unfortunately as you can't do a thing without registering your dongle

Possibly linked to your smartphone; what model do you have and does it have the last firmware version?
Also make sure Bluetooth is activated and check in the Bluetooth settings if the dongle is seen and connected. Or you could try using another phone.

Tried two different phones, one running Android 10, the other running Android 9. Both do the same thing, on binding it says "product has been registered" and then it still asks to be bound. And it won't do anything without binding. I guess this is going back
Did you buy this used and came in an open package? It seems to be reporting its already registered so wont allow you to bind to your login credentials. If not its also possible someone has scanned it to gain the free software and preventing you from binding to your login credentials. My 2c.
It was in an unopened package. I can't even get to the part where I download a car package. Every option asks me to bind, it says it works, but then doesnt stick
Hey guys, sorry you are having so much trouble. I'd say you got a defective one or something. I've downloaded software for my jag and Chevy. Works pretty good. The software interface is clunky but get it's done. Maybe trying calling for support.
This is what mine looks like. All I do is click Jaguar and it says "unzipped".
So after multiple Ht200 purchases, and a pretty responsive support inquiry from Autel, I finally got one of them working. The problem seemed to be that they were returned models (I guess people used them to diagnose a problem then return it, not sure why when you can rent a scanner for free at most auto parts stores) so the scanner was already bound to an account. Plus, it seems as though the support rep didn't properly rebind it to my account the first time, but on a second try all is well.
So just be aware when purchasing these from eBay, they're probably already returned models and you may have to contact support. One of mine was even in original packaging!
