Infotainment Screen Hates Universal Studios

Infotainment Screen Hates Universal Studios
My recently-purchased 2011 Supersport has certainly got its share of quirks - one of the oddest is that the infotainment screen (and system) sometimes shuts off completely, but only when I'm driving south on the Hollywood Freeway as it goes up the hill next to Universal Studios. There's no bump in the road, no apparent reason for it, and it doesn't happen anywhere else. And when I restart it manually sometimes it seems as though it's a bit discombobulated, almost hung over. Any thoughts?

That is a bizarre symptom.
I would probably have the infotainment software checked to make sure it has the latest updates. I think there are a couple threads that tell you how to check which software version you’re running. Even if it’s the right one perhaps it has gotten corrupt. Alternatively you could upgrade your infotainment module to the faster 2012 (?) one. There is a long thread that details how to do that.
Unrelated, but when did you buy the 2011 Supersport. I tried to buy one last year in Southern California, but someone else bought it the night before I drove there to make payment. Would be funny if it’s the same one.
All the best.

I bought my car two months ago, so probably not the same one. One previous owner.
I'll check the software status. I actually did buy a 2012 display on eBay, it worked very well at first then the touchscreen stopped responding so I returned it. I may yet attempt the swap again since the 2012 responds so much faster.
Also trying to isolate the cause(s) of chassis vibration and noise at highway speeds which seems to be a common problem.
This car is, in some areas, so much better than my previous 2007 XJR but it does feel nowhere near as well-developed. One suspects Tata wasn't as generous as Ford with the engineering budget.

Yeah, not the same car then. It is a nice model. The 2010-2012 were early production and therefore have more quirks. By 2015 most quirks were fixed. I’ve been updating my model to get it up to shape.
For the chassis noise you are also welcome to try the chassis ears I lent mcmism [sp]. If he hasn’t already mailed them, he could mail them to you instead. Let me know by PM and I’ll check with him. Alternatively we live close enough to each other I can hand them to you when I next pass through LA.

Thanks for the offer - my mechanic has one of these kits as well so if we can't locate the source of the noise we will try it. My theory is that the very stiff aluminum chassis in these cars transmits a lot more noise and vibration than a steel chassis, and added to this this car seems to have a propensity for wearing out bushings and mounts in multiples so there can be layers of vibrations that must be corrected one at a time.
