Default Intelligent Auto High Beam retrofit

Doe we know if we can retrofit High Beam Assist if you add the camera behind the centre mirror area, i have seen the camera units available but not sure what else will be required.

Thanks

You dont need anything else apart from a session on SDD to configure your car to accept the new module. I have the parameters somewhere , i tried for ages to get it to work with the setting on UK, turns out i needed it set to 'Rest Of World'.. So installation is easy, swap the mirrors over, order in the side covers that are correct for the mirror, they are under £20 from a dealer, SDD to configure and thats it... No other mods required...

Why bother? It doesn't work very well. Turned mine off 18 months ago.

Hi there, would you be able to elaborate on what I need to do software wise? Ive added the camera unit on the mirror and too it to my garage the software to update the car, he's downloaded an update for the body control module and programmed the car to accept the camera but it doesn't seem to be working and it didn't ask him to calibrate anything which I thought would be required, thanks in advance

I have to agree with Mark SF. The system just does not work very well. Mine does not turn on the hi beams often enough. Then every little road sign or street light will cause it to dim again.
My wife's Lincoln performs so much better. You would think they are all built about the same but maybe not?
I leave it on but over ride it much of the time.

Regarding the auto lights, I also find that it responds more slowly than I would like so I end up manually using the dip and main beams

With modern HID or LED headlamps and their high output and great beam control, auto dimming is one of those "features" that is unnecessary. I feel it's also distracting/dangerous to other motorists who aren't sitting high atop an SUV. It is one of the items that will become banned when I become emperor.

When my auto-dipping works I rather like it and have been pleasantly surprised at how rapidly it operates. However, it randomly fails to work so I end up dazzling the first car I meet after setting off. I then take over manually dipping and un-dipping the lights and, of course, once I've done this the auto-dipping is turned off unless I fiddle with the lighting control to turn it back on.
So, most of the time I don't bother with it - which is a shame really.
What is it with Jaguar electronics and their seemingly random faulty behaviour?
