Hi there,
I've been using for ages my iPhone 6 via USB and Spotify on my XJ since I bought it.
Works like a charm.
iOS9 was out, updated to it, worked fine
Then 9.0.1, same. Although some problems arise - bluetooth started behaving erraticaly, sometimes it paired, sometimes it didnt. USB was fine.
Now updated to 9.0.2 and usb was killed -it simply doesnt recognize any music whatsoever via USB - either Spotify, Apple Music, nada.
It say "connect iPod", then I connect the iPhone and keeps saying this. I press play on the iPhone and where before the music would start playing, now it just says "AUDIO NOT RECOGNIZED, ERROR".
Any ideias ?
I'm trully pissed, since with 9.0.2 its NOT possible now to roll back to iOS8 anymore - I would, but it isnt possible now.

today I left the car at Jaguar Lisbon, to fix the clonky roof and I asked them to see if there is a software update for the car - since I knew someone ( swajames, that is you lol ) that had a iPhone 9.0.2 and a 2015 Jag and it works. They said they will update the software if mine is older ( on the car ).
Will report back once I get it.

so after two and half weeks ( long long story ) , car came from Jaguar Portugal.
While it was there, the service manager told me that my car already had the latest operation system / revision, if I wanted, they could do a fresh wipe and reinstall the same.
I said ok, was charged for 1/2 labour time and picked up the car today - still no music via USB cable and Bluetooth is erratic ( phone calls and dials are 100% ok, music is another story... I have to restart the phone to get the car to connect to the Bluetooth audio...
Really hoping for a fix... I miss USB sound quality...
ps : yes, I've updated my iPhone to 9,1... same crap.

I just checked my XJ and can still use USB to play audio originating from my iPhone 5S with IOS 9.1. In 2013 the audio system was changed from a Harmon Kardon head end (B&W speakers) to one from Meridian and that may have made the difference, but plays fine for me, although, i prefer to use bluetooth.

So, the big conclusion : I was getting pretty OCD with this.
Every single person that came to my office, I would ask : what phone you have ? can you come down to the garage ?
I switched cables like 4 times, tried iPhone 6, 6S, 6Plus, 6PlusS ...
Funny side note : I tried Samsung's, Sony Xperia's and HTC One. I couldn't get a single android phone to work.
So, in a act of despair, I enroled into iOS Beta program - so I'm currently on 9,22 ... and still no sound.
Yesterday, my tech junior came all happy, showing me his new iPhone and I said my problem. He said "no no no, they didnt changed the codecs in iOS9 .. makes no sense, lets go to your car". So we went, he opened his iPhone box, took his cable, plugged his iPhone and... it worked.
I didnt knew if I was happy, if I should kill him and steal his iPhone or just slap him to take off his smile.
So he took my iPhone, plugged it in and... it worked.
I switched to my cables, and ... the error again.
So I went to the Apple Store, bought a new cable and all is dandy now.
Apparently ALL my four or five iPhone/iPad thunderbolt cables, were defective ( bending too much / one of them under close inspection had a small crack ) ... and that upset the Jaguar Meridian system... They were fine to charge the iPhone, transfer stuff, copying music... but not to connect to the car.
So here it is - 100% my stupidity. Just sharing hoping that, if it happens to someone else, they can read this, have a laugh, buy a new cable and be done with it, saving themselves to become lunatic with this, downloading 1000's of songs into an old ipod, trying 100's of phones and ranting about it like a little girl for days...
In the end, you have to know how to have a laugh from your own self.
There you have it.
