Jaguar beats Lexus in ownership satisfaction
BBC News - Jaguar wins key ownership award
Jaguar has been named the UK's number one carmaker in an influential ownership satisfaction study.
The UK carmaker beat Toyota's luxury car subsidiary Lexus, which had held the title every year for 11 years.
In the individual models category, the Jaguar XF came second after the Korean model Kia Sportage.
"This study shows that customers are really satisfied with their Jaguars," said What Car? editor-in-chief Chas Hallett.
The study, which is carried out by What Car? in partnership with JD Power, surveys some 18,000 car buyers once they have owned their vehicles for an average of two years.
The study measures customer satisfaction with both the cars and the service they get from dealers. The customers are asked about their views on vehicle appeal, quality and reliability, as well as about costs.
Jaguar Land Rover UK's managing director Jeremy Hicks said the title would be "another tool in our armoury".
"Things like this have a long burn life," he told BBC News in an interview.
"It rests in consumers' minds when it comes to making purchasing decisions."

I really like the Jaguar brand for its sexy and dynamic cars Lexus is still the best brand on the planet. Why....because you get a lot of car for the money in comparison to others. Prices seem similar to others but after cheking off all the preferred options with other brands, a similar segment car becomes almost double the cost of the Lexus.
Plus, they are easy to care for and although more expensive than regular cars, things like oil changes are $60.
Lexus cars are still the most reliable luxury car, no debate possible there.
You don't usually hear this but I also like the way they ride. I always lower mine and add low profile performance tires/wheels. This makes the Lexus just the way I like, sport luxury.
I'm not surprised the Brits chose Jag over Lexus. Jag is a British car. Thats not a big deal at all.
I plan to buy a Jag XKR. I swoon everytime I see one....but there will always be a Lexus at my home.

This is great news as I'm myself a Lexus to Jaguar convert. I used to be a diehard Lexus loyalist, but lost it since Lexus started focusing on "sportiness" with F-sport etc. Then I drove a current XJL & was immediately smitten by it, so I've decided to get an XJL Supercharged instead of an LS600hL.
I also like the fact that the entire range of 3 Jaguar models is desirable, unlike Lexus which has SUV's & s**t boxes like the CT hybrid. My only bugbear is that the XK has a hatchback instead of a proper trunk opening like the previous XK8.
