If I find my 2012 has a dead battery one morning. Will jaguar roadside assistance bring an install a new battery like mercedes does or Is jaguar roadside assistance just a call to local gas station? Curios about current xjl owners and roadside assistance. Thanks

From Jaguar USA website ( Jaguar USA - FAQ ) Legal FAQ's:

The section I've boxed in red indicates repairs will not be carried out at the roadside but the vehicle towed to the nearest Jaguar retailer.
As you are a resident of the World's most litigious country, I'd expect Jaguar will do exactly and precisely that if a jump start listed as one of the complimentary benefits in the final paragraph is not appropriate.

Interesting question.
From the above I'm guessing the Jaguar contracts with hundreds (thousands?) of providers (as, for example, AAA does) to provide roadside assistance. These roadside assistance programs typically have a manufacturer's name attached ("Jaguar") but the administration and execution is 100% contracted to an outside company who vets, and contracts with, the actual service providers.
I'm aware that some manufacturers have (or had) a roadside assistance plans that allowed (not required) dealers to be a roadside assistance provider. They'd send out a well equipped repair truck and qualified personell. For the dealers who wanted (and could afford) this sort of thing it was considered a real customer satisfaction and revenue enhancing boon.
Not surprisingly there are mileage limits, though. At a certain point the call would be handed-off to a conventional roadside assistance provider.
I *suspect* that's the situation with the Mercedes battery example.
Cheers

Yes with my previous mercedes in houston. A local dealer was the response team for local roadside assistance. They showed up in a mercedes identified truck bearing the dealers name. They brought a battery. Swapped it out and reset all the windows sunroof etc. so my real question is I'm in houston Texas. If I need roadside assistance and I'm say 5 to ten miles from the 2 local dealers. Who would they send? A Jaguar technician or someone contracted out who knows nothing about Jaguars? It seems to me that Jaguar Roadside assistance is just like AAA. Please relate more experiences.
