Jaguar -> Tesla -> Jaguar
I'm back!!
After being very a happy Jaguar 2011 XF Premium owner, I switched to a 2020 Tesla Model 3, then a 2023 Tesla Model S, and now I am back in a 2019 XJL Collection, and I will never own another Tesla after learning what I have learned over the past 4 years.
If you have FOMO about EV's, especially Tesla's, don't. It's all based on lies, and it was the worst mistake of my life buying those cars, and a very expensive and infuriating mistake at that. I am happy to be back home in a more reliable Jag.

Howdy fellow Houstonian. Nice looking Jag' Looks like you recently bought it. It does not have a Texas Registration sticket yet. bring all your documentations (proof of ownership) with you just in case you get pulled over by cops. Even with temp registration tag cops stops suspeciuos vehicles on them because criminals can easily print it out (Fake Registration Tag). But for a beuatiful Jag like yours it is unlikely you'll get pulled over. But it's better to play safe, there are cops who are very picky.

Being a final edition, this XJL wasn't made until mid 2020 and only has 24K miles. So it still has almost 2 years of factory warranty and maintenance. Very happy with it!
I bought the car on Friday from the Mercedes dealership in Dallas and drove it home on Saturday. Great dealership with a very nicely prepped car at a surprisingly good price. That dealer also has a Jaguar dealership, but they must not talk because I don't think they know what they had. It's very hard to find late model V8's with low miles for sale, so the ones out there are priced high.
Funny you mentioned the paper plates. On the way back, a trooper went flying past us with, of all things, paper plates! Don't think I ever saw that before. Fortunately, I do have electronic copies of all the paperwork with me at all times, but I am sure you have noticed that policing in Houston has dropped to next to nothing by the way people drive here, so I don't expect to be pulled over, especially since I am not driving an Altima.

I have a model Y and XJL. I prefer the Jag for open roads/ leisure driving and the Tesla for traffic (work commute). The XJ interior is far superior and the ride is more enjoyable. The Tesla however gets to use the carpool lane, has decent self driving in traffic, and I get free charging at work.

I convinced my dad to buy a 2020 Model Y. It's been a good car for him, but he doesn't drive a lot. Its build quality was pretty good, which is a roll of the dice. From the factory, it rode extreme rough, but I was able to make it acceptable by just replacing the rear shocks with Tein adjustable dampening shocks. Fortunately, the rear is easy to change since they are not coil overs like the front. It is a noisy ride still.
There's a lot of good things about EV's, but in the end, the bad far outweighs the good.
My Model 3 and Model S were poorly built, and the Model S left me stranded on the side of the road at midnight. It's shockingly common. But nothing compares to Tesla service in this country. You have to go to a Turkish prison to get the same level of service as Tesla.

Hello and Welcome! Great looking car with all the latest features!
Check to make sure you have the threaded towing hook in the styrofoam tray surrounding the spare tire. I can't imagine getting an XJ on a flatbed without it. If you have this hook (and a properly-inflated spare), Murphy will select somebody else's day to ruin. In the pouring rain. In their best suit.

The previous owner seems to have kept and included most everything that came with the car, which is great!
The spare tire (not pictured) looks unused and was even filled up to the correct pressure.
I do have the tow hook. Is there anything I am missing in the two empty slots in the red circles?

Hi,
Not sure about small opening on left, but square opening over jack seems to be place for optional compressor and right round circled opening seems to be its repair mousse cardridge. (that reminds me to replace mine, because they are dated... i have only repair kit, not spare wheel at all)

Ignore the rope style plug in the kit. I have used these screw in plugs and they work amazingly well with no pressure loss after days of use. They are a 1000 times easier to install with the tire still on the car than the traditional auto store plug kits. And since they are screw in, you will not have any issue with the tire store refusing the patch the tire because you used a traditional plug kit.
