Yes, unless you have the SDD software and know how to use it.
How do you know that your extra Smartkey has been cleared and is programmable? Where did you get it?

I erased all smart keys including the original and was able to reprogram the original and 1 spare key you DO NOT need the original key to program all you need is any key fob compatible with the car
the original key is not special all compatible keys are the same
I thought I had to have the original key in the system to be able to program another not true I erased it and was able to program my spare key no problem then I programed the original

Correct. If you don't have 2 working keys then you must delete ALL keys and then re-add them one at a time.
This is why it's important to get 2 keys/FOBS when buying a used car. They are often lost and many people buying used are only getting one key.
This is a problem just waiting to happen! Please don't operate with only one key it will come back to bite you!
Be aware that after market suggestions are usually cloned keys. These do work fine but again the car thinks you only have one key so when things go wrong (and they will at some time!) all the keys will stop working. So you really want 2 completely separate working keys. Plus with cloned keys the memory stuff that follows the separate keys is also gone. Things like seat and steering wheel position memory.
IanXF that tool looks nice! What does it cost?

I was parked at the dealership parking lot while doing this in case I was not able to reprogram after deleting all keys so I would not have to tow the car to them
I was able to reprogram no problems at all I now have 4 smartkeys! programed to the car I bought two new ones off of Ebay
