Default Liquid Spill Causing NAV, Radio, Backup Camera not to work

Family,

Liquid recently spilled on my dash (2012 XJL SuperSport), causing the radio, NAV, and AC to stop working. I replaced the radio AC Climate Control Panel, and now the AC works fine.

Then I replaced the screen and the CD Player Navigation Radio Receiver Control Module. However, that did not restore the radio nor NAV functionality.

The screen shows both functions "greyed out" or turned off. I checked all fuses, all locations. Help please.

V/R,
Rodney

This usually happens if the HDD dies or have issue. Its located inside of DVD-Player Navigation Radio Receiver module. Maybe the new unit installed have been have rough shipping etc? (The HDD is "automotive grade" with better guts than standart laptop models, but its still a HDD). You can carefully dismantle your old module and take the HDD out and swap it to your new module. When doing this you will have your nav history, saved music etc.

Not sure how the radios in the 2012 are but when I had some parts in my 2017 replaced, the only way to get the radio working as it should was to have it reprogrammed. Am assuming it has something to do with all the modules having a shared key for everything to operate in unison.

Help. Just learned that the three Jaguar dealerships in Atlanta won't work (program radio/NAV) because my car is over 10 years old. Looking for independent shop that has the equipment and willing to do it. Sad.

Is their a local Jaguar club in Atlanta? I would think so. If so, join the club and find out from them which 3rd party shops service older Jags.

As I understand it, the 10 year limit is a directive from TATA. My dealer advised me of that a year or so ago.

Just another decision that confirms TATA doesn't understand the Jaguar market at all. They have lumped it into the "automotive disposable appliance" strategy they seem to favor.

Another option is to get/learn SDD. I feel like the cost of the hardware pays for itself real quick if your a DIYer

I did a search and was overwhelmed by the options. Could you please provide a link or suggestion to what I need to purchase? Thanks!

I DM’d you a link. There are many options but this is what I’ve been personally using for the pass 3 years with no issues. The software is free to download however you can opt to purchase a hard drive with everything you need preinstalled for an extra $20

By my experience the 2010-2013 IAM2.1 control unit don´t need to be reprogrammed to the vehicle.
(been rotating units from car to car after user messed up the map upgrade -> i have currently one fixed unit on shelf in case somebody bricks his/her one with map upgrade)
However: SDD have an position to do so, but it might be that it is needed for newer or different trim level? Worth to try.

I installed a different DVD/NAV module and now the volume indicator displays from the steering wheel control and the on/off ***. However, the audio touch screen button is still greyed-out. I received the wrong amp, but I don't believe that is the issue since I'm getting the same results with the old amp connected as well as disconnected.

Should I order another touch screen?

If you have things greyed out then it’s probably not the touchscreen. It is just a display. The multimedia computer would control what is available or not

Thanks. Is the multimedia computer different from the DVD/NAV module below the touchscreen? If so, where is it located?

I can’t speak to your model year but in my 2017 XJL, the IMC is in the trunk behind the carpet.

Where is the Bluetooth module? Is it a part of the Sirus Satellite module?

While reinstalling various modules, I noticed that the touch screen and amp optical lights were blinking. However, the SDAR optical light was not blinking. What does this mean...?
