2016 and above has an even easier option to disable it.

How I did it for a 2016 XJ...
Remove the trunk floor exposing the battery, spare, etc.
At the back end (towards front of car) of the battery is a thin, rectangular, silver module attached to a bracket. Several wired plugs are attached to the face of this module. The small black plug closest to you, with the SMALL GAUGE colored wires, can be unplugged. Secure this disconnected plug.
When you start the car, after about 30 secs., the "ECO OFF" light will illuminate in your dash.
No more stop/start, and no problems for me so far! Let me know if this works for you too, or if you notice any other issues...
Good luck!

The older model 2011 to 2013 can have water leaks coming from the sunroof. So, its best to check for rust on the tracks. Also, the auto sunroof shade can get stuck, that's also something to look out for. Like other had mentioned the water pump is also an issue so, look for it to be replaced. My 2014 XJL has had water pump done twice under warranty. I believe in 2015 they found a fix for that.

According to my dealer the current version of the water pump still fails about as much as the earlier versions. So much so that he advised me to NOT preemptively replace the water pump and instead wait as long as possible while keeping close watch for issues. I have a 17 year history with this guy and trust his guidance on this.

Good advice above and I will add the current water pump part number ends in 3909. It has been revised at least 5+ times so far but this one has been released for quite a while now (At least 4+ years that I know of?) I had not heard that the latest one also fails?
But there are after market water pumps too but we have not seen enough of them to really know if they are better or not? If you look Rock Auto has 6 different brands of water pumps for the 3.0L XJ and none of those are factory so if you add that we have 7 different brands of water pump to choose from.
Rock Auto Water Pumps
But what one do we use? I don't know and have stayed with the Jaguar supplied water pump. Heck all the after market ones "might" be all made at the same factory with just different brands put on the shipping boxes?
I do know people have gone thru multiple pumps too. We have never got any info from Jaguar or others about what exactly causes the failures either?
But I agree. Don't change it until it leaks and keep an eye on the coolant level.
