Default Looking at buying a 2016 XJL

Hello Im looking at buying the car listed below. and Im looking for opinions on it. I am new to Jaguar , but I have always wanted to own one. It is a CPO so combined it would have 6yrs and about 82k mile of warranty left with some maintenance included. Not sure of the market value of these cars (i guess the CPO adds a little value). Thanks for your assistance.

Mike

gt1000, you are getting pretty much a "basic" car from jaguar. The only upgrades that I see are the heated steering wheel (will be nice during the winters in Ohio) and the heated windshield. Yes, the CPO adds some to the price that I would pay, but that car was probably around $75K MSRP and most of these cars will loose value to about half of their MSRP in 3 years or so. Since you are already at 2 years into the car, you can see how the price is a little on the high side. I will admit that the car does have the hard to find Ultimate Black (very nice color) and has the desirable LED headlights (which is now standard on all XJ's from 2016 on).

I would say to offer them $50K and see what they say at that point. KBB says that the fair market price from a dealership selling that car with CPO is around $53K.

Nice car but yes overpriced. You could get that for $50k. Mine is identical accept a '14 and better equipped. I got it in '16 for $42k. You could have gotten that for new for that price back in '16. In another year that will be low $40s. These cars sit on used lots for a long time. They will come down!

Thanks for guidance.!! I thought it was high , just wanted to see where that car stands. Also from an option standpoint what else could be included? I thought this car was fully loaded.

thanks again

Everything on that car comes standard accept for the heated windscreen and wood/heated wheel. You can go on Jaguar's website and configure the car and see what you come up with. It should be very similar with the current year.

"Options" has morphed a lot and is used incorrectly by dealers to inflate what you are getting. ie: power windows is not an option, heated seats are not an option. All of these things come standard with the base model of the car. For the '14 there are 2 big option packages and I have both of them. One is a "visibility package" (bendy headlights) and one is an "interior lighting package" (lighted vents and sill plates). In addition I also have the heated/wood wheel and the power rear window shade.

GT1000, some of the options that you could get on the car are:
-5.0L supercharged engine (granted, you would lose the AWD)
-airline trays for the rear seats
-4 zone climate control (not just left and right sides as your car has)
-heated/cooled/massage rear seats
-larger rotors and calipers (comes with the 5.0L supercharged engine)
-lighted sill plates

I am sure there are some other options, but this gives you an idea of what you are "missing". Like JagGate says, go online to the Jaguar site and build yourself a car. Then you get to see what the possibilities are. Yes, this car is "loaded" when you compare it to what most other people drive. Compared to other high end cars, it is "basic".
