Thanks, everyone. Just to close the loop on this one, I contacted the dealership - spoke with someone named Shannon - who has been lovely. The price is good based on KBB and Edmunds for that VIN, but she shared the CARFAX and I think I'm gonna pass. It's had three owners (one for only six months), but nearly no routine maintenance was logged. Zero by owner one who put 10K miles on it, zero by owner two who put an additional 5K miles on it, and just a single oil change service by owner three around the 25K mark. It's possible it was serviced somewhere and not captured, but I'm dubious. Also, the dealership is too far away for me to go check out the car in person. Let me know if you think I'm being too fussy. Thanks.

And being a 2019, this car is either still under the 5 year of complimentary maintenance, or just recently ended. The previous owners would have done whatever maintenance needed to keep their warranty intact. It's free after all!
Why don't you call Jaguar USA or go to a local dealer to see if they can print out all the maintenance that has been done and ask about the in service date? You are dealing with a used car dealer that knows nothing about Jags. My car didn't have anything on the Carfax and the Mercedes dealer was clueless, but Jaguar USA gave me all the details of the service, and everything was either done on time or early.

Is it not the most popular dash color for the XF and XJ's? I really like the reddish tint it has. I had the same interior color combo in a 2011 XF Premium and I really preferred it over the grey colors in my other 2011 XF Premium.

I have yet to blacken the steering wheel and the door cards, but it is planned. The overall plan is to reduce the chrome to only the bits that get touched.
Decorative chrome is so last century.

Hi Friends,
I want to say thank you to everyone for all the great advice regarding purchasing a late-model XJ. I was keen to find a 2018 or 2019 and was still on the fence about a V8 or Portfolio model, when a 2017 Portfolio edition popped up for sale at a Jaguar dealer in my state. It was a one-owner with a good price and only 9300 miles! Ultimate Black Metalic with the Jet/Ivory interior and the upgraded 20" Orona polished wheels. Super sharp. The prior owner basically never drove it and just traded it in on a Land Rover. The best part is, the dealer provided a free oil change, a wheel alignment, AND they replaced the plastic metal coolant pipe with an upgraded metal version. I couldn't say no to this deal. My inner "motorhead" is having just a twinge of FOMO over getting a V6 vs a V8, but the portfolio edition is awesome, and I'm really happy I got one. Looking forward to being an "official" member of the X351 forum now.
Cheers,
GME

GME, pay attention to the Mid-Atlantic group too. We should be trying to get some sort of group get together so you can put a face with a name. We like to get together every now and then. I know if you go to the Fairfax Cars N' Coffee, you will normally run into a few of them there too. If you ever need help with something, as long as you are not too far away, I may just show up and help.
On a side note, you are going to want to invest in a vacuum pump and a 5 gallon can for used motor oil. Doing your own oil changes is stupid easy on this car. You do not even need to let you knees touch the ground. It is all done from the top of the car. I buy my filters through e-bay and they have the jaguar logo on them. They run about $12 each. A lot of other places are going to try and get over $30 for just the filter.

I have tried but failed, to find out just how many V8s were built for the MY 2019. I don't think there were many, considering that most of the XJLs were mostly V6s. This brings me to the
300 xjls that were sold off to American buyers, starting around November of 2019. My wife and I bought one of them, Santorini Black with an Ivory interior. At the time, it was either that one
of Santorini Black with a black interior. they came with badges on the trunk, doorsills, and dash, 20-inch wheels from the short-wheelbase XJ, a choice of three exterior colors (white, black, or British Racing Green), and three interior colors (black, gray and dark gray, or tan and black).. I have mine in the shop for the annual maintenance. It's still under warranty. My guess is that this group of 300 were all that came off the assembly line. I have one more source that I'm going to check with to see if that's true. ours has 27,000 miles and I'm soon to put it on the market. It has one more year to go with the factory warranty.
Maybe somebody reading this might know the answer to how many V8s came off the line.

Are you going to list it in the classifieds or send it to online auction? I think it could do well on Bring a Trailer. Almost all of the BaT cars are early X351's, so I think there would be good excitement for a final edition V8.
