Default Making sure I get the timing right

Anyone know exactly how to set the timing on the 5.0 supercharged engine? 2012 XJ. I replaced my driver cylinder head and now I am trying to get the cams and timing in correct time. Any advice would be great. I have the workshop manual but it is confusing to me. I think the crank has to be in the 6 o'clock position for the driver side and 9 o'clock for the drivers?? I know the cams have to be in a certain spot as well for each side as well. The cams are currently off the heads. I have watched many videos and none of them show how to put the cams on the head then get the timing correct.

Did you put the lock tool where the crank sensor goes? That should put you at basic timing for the crank. Then all you have to do is set the cams using the hold down tool and colored chain links.
