Default Multi-car scanner?

Hello,

Looking to see if there is an affordable scanner tool that will do my 2013 X351 and a 2014 Mercedes GL550. Not sure if the anyone is in the same boat as me.

I have a Foxwell NT 510 and NT530. They are in the $140.00 USD range with ONE software, and like $50.00 more for a second. In my NT 530 I have JLR and Fomoco loaded, and it is very easy to select between the software versions and OBD II.

Read up on the NT510 and NT530 is it worth getting the NT530? What’s the biggest advantage? I’ll need it for my
Jaguar, Mustang and Mercedes. Seems like the software can do air suspension diagnostics which is key for the Mercedes and the Jaguar.

The biggest question is what are you looking to do with them? The Foxwell works, but I've used it and it's slow in some areas.

I am planning on purchasing an Autel MX808 which can do air suspension recalibration (have used it and it works for JLR and should for Benz), and everything else I need short of bidirectional scanning. The added perk is licenses are available for other vehicles. I prefer Autel's support availability over a company like Foxwell. But I also touch my friends/family vehicles. I was considering purchasing a commercial scanner for awhile, but the payback just isn't there.

If you are interested, there's a contact in one of the Autel facebook groups you could connect with. He is an accounts guy at Advance Auto Parts, which is an authorized distributor. Do not pay list or advertised prices for these tools.

If this supported bi-directional control (as the Zurich ZR15) it would be near-perfect. I had purchased the ZR15 after I contacted their support to verify that it would perform the functions I needed for my 2013 Jaguar XJ L, but turns out that when I received it, it actually didn't. I think this unit would be fine for US manufacturers.

The next BT versions support all the previous mentioned functions, and add bi directional control. The price floor is about $1000, so that's mostly the guiding factor for me.

I'm now looking at the Launch CRP909 as it seems like it does a lot (oil change indicator reset, Add/remove keys, TMPS replacement, ABS bleed, EPB service mode) and includes bi-directional control. Price is around US$460. This unit is not to be confused with the CRP909E, or the CRP909X.

Does anyone here have any experience using this model? Thanks in advance.

Did Launch product support or a distributor tell you it's bidirectional? I have had friends who like Launch products, but I do not believe the model you listed is truly bidirectional.

Independent site, no guarantees. I'm going to follow up if I can find authentic access to the manufacturer. I will see if the forum lets me post a link.
