For those with iPhones, this is the one I use for CarPlay that works perfectly in both our Jag and Merc:

Soo, good news. I managed to speak to Jaguar's main dealer further from me (the local one wouldn't give me information until I bought the car) and they ran the info and seems the car can be updated and it'll rush me £180 to have it done. I think it'll be worth it. So I ordered the car and will collect it next Friday. After playing with all the buttons and seeing whats what, I'll get it to an independent specialist local to me to get it checked out, make sure there are no big surprises, and then get the software booked in to complete the update.

Thanks all for the help, once its at my gaff I'll throw some pictures up and probably ask more stupid questions.

also ordered one of those wireless Android Auto devices to add to it.

Assuming you are in the UK, am there are people everywhere with access to SDD. You you may be able to get that smartphone pack for free or significantly cheaper

Yep, UK based over near Peterborough. I've asked the specialist I'll get the inspection done by, and they're going to check out and see if they can. Might be something they can do while running the inspection.

Thanks for the help and input.

If they have SDD, then they have the capability. Might not have the knowledge on that specific thing though

I use an AAWireless for mine, it was a little buggy at first but now it's worked for probably six months with no issue. I unlock the car from my back door and by the time I get in the car it's connected, so the car shows a warning screen then jumps straight into it.

When I was researching the retrofit I found people who'd paid for the update, and others who'd talked a dealer into doing it free. If you're buying the car from the and all they need to do is change a firmware flag, I'd be pushing for it to be done free as part of the sale 😊

Excellent that you're having an independent inspection done 👍 If it comes back with any major issues don't hesitate to walk away, there's always another car right around the corner.

Good luck!
