New Tires
The original tires are : Front-Continental 245/40R20 ---- Rear-Continental 275/35R20
I would buy them again but I have been checking out:
Dunlap SP Sport Maxx And Pirelli P Zero.
I'm finding the difference in price is next to nothing so not a factor.
Ok "Guy'Z & Girl'Z what would you buy?
PS------------------------> NOT Conti's They are Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT (I pulled up info on wrong car )

My car came with the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx, not Continentals. They are not bad, but not great either. I've been thinking about getting Bridgestone S-04 Pole Positions as my next set. I really want the Michelin Pilot Super Sports but they dont come in our sizes. I keep hoping that by the time I'm ready for a new set, that Michelin will have added our sizes.

My new 2012 XJL came with Pirelly Zero Nero 19" all season tires, 245F and 275 rears.
My initial impressions are that they provide very good handling in the dry (have not had a chance to drive it in the wet), likely more than enough precision and adhesion for 99 percent of XJ drivers. Also, the wear ratings on them is 400 that is very high. We'll see if it translates to long lasting thread wear in real life.
I did find the ride quality harsher than expected. After getting it home I found the rears over inflated by about 5 psi, which may account for the harsher than expected ride. I dropped the pressures and will see during my upcoming trip if it changes the ride harshness enough.

I agree with another_geek on the S-04's. I've had them in the past and my brother has them on his CTS-V and the ride and handle great. If the new Sport Comp-2's came in our front size, I'd be all over them. My buddy has them on his 911 Turbo and I was very impressed. For me, I like a softer tire. I'd rather buy them more often and enjoy the performance and ride of the car than ride on caveman wheels for 50,000 miles.

I have the Pirellis and they are pretty good actually...very smooth ride but good grip even in the wet. I don't push my cat too much but the tires have responded very well on the few occasions when I have had to do so. Not sure if you have a Mr. Tire / Colony Tire where you live, but you can get a set of the P-Zero Neros for about $1300 installed.
