Default OBD2 Scanner - Is it compatible?

Hey guys, considering buying the ANCEL AD530 OBD2 Scanner for my car, 2013 XJL. I know absolutely nothing about these scanners and wondering if it's compatible with this car or if I'd need to buy a different version? I think I've seen OBD3 also exists, so just being cautious here.

Nightshadow, Iam forgetting if it is the 9141-2 protocol or if it is the J1850 protocol. You get a reader that can do both of those and you should be good. You can also do a search on scanners that are compatible with the 2013 Jaguar XJ and you should get a good listing. I have 2 different readers as I find one is better for looking at real time data where the other is much more intrusive and will dig deeper into the car to find more faults and pull up the fault data at the time that the fault came in. This can be useful if you have a code that just pops in momentarily and then goes away.
