I use it as instructed on the can of CRC valve cleaner & turbo. Basically I slowly sprayed can’s contents down a vacuum line while running at designated rpm range (I used the vacuum line that runs to the supercharger boost bypass valve). Then I turned off the car and let it heat soak for some time. Turn the car back on, smoke comes out the back similar to seafoam (though I didn’t have very much smoke). I think I then drove it at 60 mph for a while afterward.
What helped was buying a long piece (~6 ft) of vacuum hose from an auto parts store with the same ID as the original vacuum hose. Then I could sit in the car with the hose stretching to my drivers seat window. Hold the gas and squirt the stuff down the hose. Reconnect old hose when done.

I've just seen my intake valves for the first time and they're not too bad. I've used the CRC cleaner twice, the last time being nearly a year ago, but as I have no idea what the valves looked like before, I can't say whether the cleaning had any effect. I also have no idea if the prior owner ever did any cleaning...so I guess this post is meaningless.

only other option would be make room with custom air intake / filter setup and remove factory filter air boxes.
what do you all experience for oil consumption? i used to think engine burned it via piston ring deficiencies, but i think it all goes into cylinders via intake air flow... i had lots of carbon barnacles on the valves

it's definitely slowed down how much oil the engine consumes. when i first got the car at just under 80k, I'd add a quart every 1500 - 2000 miles. now maybe only about 30% of that consumption. and every time i open it up, i get plenty of oil out of it. i built horizontal setup as i couldn't find a spot for a conventional setup.. tight in those engine bays!!

I'm considering installing an oil catch can. I searched this Forum for detailed installation advice and recommended products without success.
Does does anyone have any experience with this company and its products? They appear to offer different kits for different years and models, but is this just marketing hype and it's really a one-size-fits-all catch can?

Changed a few things since I posted in the above post however still very pleased with the oil catch can I installed.
The inlet pipe into the can goes almost to the bottom and the vapor comes up thru baffles before exiting the can.

DPF regeneration issues
With a 4.2 SC engine there are significant benefits. On the 5.0 not so much because of better oil control.
On the 4.2 SC it will not just help alleviate the soft carbon build up in the TB but more importantly that build up in the charge cooler matrices which can all but block them after 60K miles and render them useless.

Not all catch cans are equal certain designs are better than others.

Just installed a new catch can this weekend (). Found a home for it near the drivers side air intake.
I bought a used partial load breather line from a forum member who was parting out their car and cut it in half to use as a hose adapter. Connected rubber heater lines over these new adapters and linked up to the oil catch can.
Attached the aluminum bracket to the aluminum frame using aluminum rivets (3/16 inch). Had to drill a new hole in the included bracket, but everything is holding tight. Will update periodically with how much I collected from this setup.
Up close, near drivers side air intake. Used aluminum rivets to install the retaining bracket.
Whole engine bay for reference.

Changed the rubber heater hose to rubber fuel hose for improved fuel resistance ().
After 400 miles, dipstick was a little wet. Collected approximately 4mL of oil over that distance.
