oil leak
hey everyone,
When i removed the bottom skidplate while searching for a clunking noise and found an oil drip on the cover for the fuel pump shaft? I'm assuming that is what it is because i can't find it in the parts diagram. I'll see if I can post a picture. Anyone have any input, is this a simple fix, or a dealer type of problem? This is on a 5.0 non sc 2011 XJL.

The vacuum pump seal carries JLR part number C2D3771 and is available from SNG Barratt, one of the forum sponsors:

I had a similar leak. On mine it was leaking from the vacuum connector. See this thread. https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...light=oil+leak

Well again he has a 5.0L and you posted that you have a 4.2L which does not have the vacuum pump?
Post back how you fixed your oil leak. It looks like the belt tensioner and I would clean up the front of the engine and watch where the oil comes from. The only leaks I had on my old 4.2L SC were from the oil cooler hoses but I don't think the NA version of the 4.2L has those?

The only two photos of my engine are the ones above. Also got the traces of oil in the plastic protection cover.
It may be that this is not a vacuum pump, i dont know. If so, can someone tell me what kind of part is that where you can see oil droplets?
No oil contamination can be seen above this part
