Default P0342-64

Hello guys, jaguar xj 3.0 d 2011 my, can't start the car.
Story , i was driving my car and all of a sudden get a restricted perfomance(red) plus decreased power like turbocharger is not working. After that i parked my car on sideway and tried restart the car without results. Sdd shows p0342- 64 ( camshaft sensor problems) so may be someone can share their experience about changing camshaft sensor (DIY) -- I can't find it.

My English is weak but i hope understandable

Camshaft sensor are in bit tricky plase. You have to remove airfilter box and maybe other stuff to get access it. The location are on side of cylinder head, front of exhaust manifold. Follow the oil-change pipe down about 20cm. It is well hidden, but if you follow electric wires you should able to find it. Sensor are held with one bolt, 8mm or 10mm if i remember right.
I hope it is the sensor or wires, not a timing belt jumped or snapped.

Hello,
The sensor reads camshaft position from back of timing belt pulley. Airfilter side. I believe that you dont need to remove egr...
Check this picture, part nr 14. (bit poor angle on the pic)

Hello, no need to remove pulley. From front side you only see tip of sensor. The opening are not big enough for complete sensor go thru. The access and bolt are behind of pulley.

This video might be usefull for you
On 14min15sek -> you can see CPS on bare cylinder head, without pulleys, cams, belts etc.The connector barely visible. Mounting bolt are where the connector are.

From same video 23min:46sek.
Engine tilted on side, without exhausts, EGR:s etc.
You can see sensor, with mounting bolt and connector. I would 1st check and clean the connector.

I think this are the most clearest possible picture to locate the sensor.
