Gorgeous pics. That 35% doesn't look nearly as dark as my 35% tint, but mine (X350) has a black interior.
Thanks

You're right, the Ivory interior makes the tint look considerably lighter, but despite not being legal, I'm still glad I did the window tint - I think XJ looks better with tint.

Coming from an XF, I noticed that the Pilkington sourced glass of the XF had a darker tint than the Saint-Gobain Sekurit sourced glass of the XJ - having the windows done was the first order of business.

Looks great guys, tint definately adds a nice touch to the new XJ. I am leaning towards 20% all around, illegal for all but the rear shield in my state which only allows 70% on the side windows. The legal 70% tint just doesn't seem worth doing, especially with my ivory interior.

Should I seek out a shop that uses computer-cut film or can a good hand-cut film shop do a nice job on the angles in this car? Thanks.

I'd say go with the computer-cut film, it's just perfection - film goes to the very edge of the windows, practically indiscernible from the glass itself (no wobbly edges), and the tricky cut-out around the CHMSL may present a problem for hand-cutters considering the steep angle of the backlight. Also, no chance of inadvertently cutting through the antenna and heater elements.

The 20% all around should look great - kind of wish I went that route, but the thought of getting another ticket is a great deterrent

Finally gut her done ... 15% Solar Gard Supreme all around.

Unfortunately, I've got a feeling that a car that is already a Chick Magnet for guys ... ... will now become a Ticket Magnet also. Oh well, the wifey says it looks goooood, Officer.

Looks great. BTW, so does the color of your car - the "Celestial Black" appears to be similar to "Indigo Metallic" but perhaps a little deeper and darker.

You also need a JAGUAR nameplate , badge to decorate your trunk lid , I see no point of deleting Jaguar script at the rear

Thanks for the feedback. The "Celestial Black" color is amazing and deeper than "Indigo Metallic." The pictures really don't do it justice ... you have to see it in person. It is like being on drugs (I assume, wink, wink) as the color changes from black, shades of deep navy, metallic blue flakes on a black/navy background, etc., depending on changing light sources.

Sorry but that one is above my pay grade my friend ... you have to talk to the boys and girls at TATA Motors to get that one done.

This is Formula 1 AM30 all the way around. If you're in S. FL, I highly recommend Tint King in West Palm, they've done 6 cars for me and they were all perfect (and held up for years). Cost me 210 dollars (with tax) for the tint job.

That looks awesome. I will never have another car without tinted windows. I just bought this jaguar on the 24th and am going to tint the windows myself after next week. I'm thinking 5% on the back, 35% front and 50% windshield. 20% is nice but I like the back to be really dark so I can put stuff back there and not worry about people seeing it and wanting to steal it.

Even with the AM30, if you put up the sunshades (in the rear window and on both passenger rear windows) it's almost impossible to see in.

I hate having anything over 20% on the rear, it's impossible to see out of in the dark.

Illinois will not let you put any tint on the front pass. and driver windows. My dealer swore it was fine. NOT! Glad I looked into that saved couple hundred bucks plus ticket

Most states don't allow tint on the front. Florida does (up to 30%), which is good for me, but I used to live in NJ; typically, as long as the tint wasn't really dark, they would let it slide. On a car like the Jag, I doubt you'd have much problem; they seem to target mostly "urban youth" for those kinds of tickets. If you tint out an Escalade, prepare to get a ticket.

There is a website for tint laws. Google it. Sorry I don't remember the URL.

I can tell you I have 25 percent on my side windows which is legal in OK and with a light interior I don't think any officer would notice it anywhere.

Looks good, how's it look outside of the garage on a sunny day?

You can tell it's tinted outside the garage, but you can also make out the "shapes" of the people inside. However, most important to me is that the sun inside the car is MUCH less intense. Living in FL, that's a big deal, the sun will cook an egg down here in 20 minutes, you don't want that beating down on you all day while you're driving. The car also stays much cooler when parked.

And.. It looks much nicer.

Well, this is an old thread but as I only have a small question I thought it would be more respectful to add it on to this one. Given I am fortunate to be in a location with very little ticket enforcement I now have Xpel Ceramic Prime XR Plus 15% all the way round - with the darker 5% added to both the sunroof glass panels (highly recommend that, as during the day even in the brightest hottest sun, you can really use the roof panels then). I still have 35% on the windshield which also allows very good vision at night, I but will likely go a bit darker with my next upgrade.

My question is does anyone know, what was the standard factory tint on a 2013 X351? Mine did not have privacy glass..., so I am guessing 70% factory???

Does anyone know??
