Default Quad Exhaust Tips for XJ

My latest mod: what do you think of my new custom-made quad exhaust tips? Together with my Mina Gallery spoiler, my 5.0L SC now has the 2014 XJR look!

They clamp on (very easy installation), are top quality chrome plated stainless steel, weigh over 5-1/2 lbs., and fit perfectly with no rubbing. They are double-walled, slant-cut and staggered right and left, with the outside pipe slightly shorter than the inside pipe as shown below. Here are some close-ups:

Spires Tuning in the UK offers similar XJ exhaust finishers for £420.00 (US$643.71 at today's exhange rate) plus shipping: XJ Quad Tail Pipes | Product Categories | Spires. I think theirs weld-on, but I'm not sure.

I have a few brand-new sets available for $425 delivered to the US lower 48. If you're interested, PM me. They will fit 5.0L and 3.0L XJs from 2011-2015 that have the OEM exhaust finisher pictured below. Dimensions are approximate:

I like the quad tips, really smart.
How did you get the car to hover for the main photo?

Angus,

I'm glad you asked. I removed the flux capacitor from my XK120 and reinstalled it in my XJ. A 10 minute job, and I can recharge it on my neighborhood Tesla supercharger for free. Equivalent to 666 mpg; one hell of an improvement!

Seriously, the tires are there - just obscured by the shadow of the body. Just wanted to have a little fun with my previous post. Hope it made you laugh!

I really like them. They look very much like those on my '09 Corvette (equipped with the optional "selective exhaust"), except the Corvette's are a little larger in diameter and have perforated interior surfaces, plus the are even rather than staggered length (the latter being nifty). They appear to be very well constructed, and at one-third less the Spires, seem like a good value.

Thanks for the information Stuart. I was afraid it was an optical illusion or Photoshop.
Glad to know that it is a genuine result of a Jaguar owner's ingenuity (and refusal to take their prescribed medication)

lukie,

You're in the wrong forum. This is the current model XJ (X351). You need to ask in the previous model (X350) forum.

I'm puzzled. I don't own an X350 and never visited or posted anything in that forum. Please attach the link to where you found me. Since you own an X350, that's the best forum to get answers to your questions.

lukie, if you're looking for a trunk lid without a license plate recess for your 2004 XJ, this (X351) is not the forum in which to post your inquiry. Sorry I can't help you, but someone in the X350 forum for your 2004 might be able to do so. The trunk lid from my 2013 won't fit your 2004.

Please stop hijacking this thread and post a new inquiry for your question in the proper forum. Good luck with your quest.

Do you still have a set avail.? Does taking off the factory tip just involve unscrewing?

Yes, 1 left. The factory tip bolts on and is easily removed with a socket wrench. The arrow points to the nut, which is visible when you're under the car and looking up.

The quad tip also bolts on with a similar clamp:

If you have any other questions, you can post them in this thread.

If you want to buy this last set of quad tips, please PM me. Thanks.
