Hi, I'm new to these forums.

I've recently bought a 2011 XJL. Love the car but it has got a couple of minor issues that I need to work through.

For now, I just have two queries that I'm hoping someone can advise me on;

• The first one is simple. I noticed when I put the full beams on there are two dark 'L' shapes on either side. Just wondered if it's supposed to be like that, and if it is does anyone know what the purpose of it is? I'm assuming that it's maybe to help avoid blinding pedestrians, or something along those lines.
• Second query is does anyone know if there is diagnostic software available, for home use, that has the ability to do things like programming in modules? I currently have a 'iCarSoft LR V2.0', which is great for diagnosing faults but it can only reading faults and monitor live data so it's not much help with repairing the faults. I have an issue with the rear entertainment, which appears to be related to the module, but I lack confidence in my local Jaguar specialists so i'd like to avoid taking it there. I noticed that you can buy IDS SDD packages but there seems to be different versions available and i'm not sure what the differences are or what they are capable of doing.
