Radar and dashcam install on a 2019
I just got the radar and dashcam, with rear view camera, installed on my 2019. Everything I found online was for the earlier model years, so for those with the later ones, hopefully this will help someone.
I bought this 4K Rexing with rear camera. It has wi-fi so you can view the videos and change settings on your phone, which is a very nice feature compared to trying to view on the built in screen at an accident scene.
The little plastic cover for the rear view mirror pops off first, and then pop off the big cover for the built-in forward cameras. Both covers are just clipped on and come off easily with a trim removal tool.
The wiring kit for dash cam, as well as the rear view camera, had way too much wire for my needs since I was going to power the devices from the rear view mirror and I was going to mount the rear camera over the rear view mirror instead of the rear window. I don't like disturbing the headliner and pillars running wires everywhere. So, I cut the wires down to length and soldered them back together. There's no room to stuff 20 feet of cables in that area, so I am glad I did that step first.
I spliced into the Black (ground) wire and the Blue /w White Stripe (+12V switched power) wire of the dimming rear view mirror. The Rexing wiring kit includes a little box to step the 12V down to 5V for the dash cam. I used regular telephone wire to get 12V directly to the Valentine One. Everything with solder.
I mounted the rear camera to the plastic cover of the built-in cameras with the included double-sided tape. It looks and works well to record video of someone ramming into the back of you at a stoplight while they're checking their Instagram. They won't be able to support their claim that you backed into them.

I plan on doing something similar in the near future.
so this will help a lot. Love the fact that you tapped into the power up there.
What is that rearview mirror you have? I like it with no bezel
Also, your car doesn't have sunroofs? Didn't know they made XJs without

I would be happy with a luxury car that doesn’t have any glass roofs. I am over those, but mine does. The rear facing camera is mounted so high that the view of the roof is blocked by the shape of the plastic in that area.

That is a very nice and neat Dash Cam and Radar Detector install for your XJL.
I have a dashcam Rexing as well for my 2018 XF. I had it for 1 1/2 years now. Yours could be the newest Rexing model.
I didn't do a hardwire but instead I used this (picture below). Its an OBD2 power cable to Dash Cam which I bought at Amazon for $13.00. It's a Plug 'n Play.
Here's how I did to mine.
