Rain-sensing wipers

Rain-sensing wipers
Hi everyone,
I'm finding that my rain sensing wipers don't seem to sweep frequently enough to keep up with the level of rain hitting my windshield. I usually want them to wipe more frequently, particularly if the car is not moving (like when stopped at an intersection), but also at road speed. I have played with the sensitivity setting on the stalk to no avail, and now keep it at MAX all of the time. Because of this, I often have to resort to forcing a manual sweep just to clear the screen before the car decides to itself. It's annoying, but otherwise I can't see through it clearly (to the degree that it is unsafe).
I'm curious what others experiences are with this feature? In car's from other manufacturers that I have driven that have auto-sensing wipers, I have not had this anxiety-inducing experience as the wipers sweep before I'm thinking that I wish they would.
Any comments or suggestions much appreciated. Thanks.

Many of us have found that you need to have the stalk in the off position and the rain sensor adjustment in the lowest setting. Then turn on by moving the stalk up to the rain sensing position and then select the sensitivity. This way the system resets and can pickup the rain intensity.
Mind you, the amount of rain we get here, my wipers are usually on!

I'll be returning to the dealer and will have them dig deeper as when I had my car in , I had and LR2 as a courtesy vehicle with the same feature, and its rain-sensing wipers worked like a charm
I appreciate that its a hard thing to test at a dealership if its not raining as the wiper sensors do work; just not not as they should.
Any other suggestions? Something to flash or a sensor to replace maybe?
