Rear license plate lights

Try LED Illumination I've used the High Intesity 194 white LEDs for the license plate on my '03 XKR and '04 XJR.They look great! The regular 194 LEDs just were not bright enough. You may have to try the bulbs one way and then turn them around to get them to light as they only flow current in one direction. My question is does anyone know what size fuse style bulb my '02 XJR 100 would take? 42 Drat Designs shows a 39mm and 42 mm available.

Gears, can you point me to where you posted the hack? I just saw a 2012 XF, which now has the same headlight unit as the XJ. It had just the LED strip on, and it looked awesome! However, my dealer said they can't do that on the XJ.

Can you tell me how you did the LED swap on the interior overhead (front)? Do you have to remove the entire plastic assembly and get the lights from the back? I was open to open the clear lense for the three lights however unable to actually pull them out, really tight up there and ended up pushing one back up into the assembly...... Thanks!!!!!

I finally ordered them all thanks to another_geek. i used autolumination.com because they had more proprietary circuitry and also had heatsinks which I thought were good. Excited to see how it turns out.
BTW I also changed the door puddle lights to the Jaguar projector lights it looks really cool

Ok. I need help. I got my order in, but a few things I need help, so please help me!!!!
1. The rear footwells seems to be 31 mm and not 36mm. I measured the bulb. In any case they sent me the wrong bulb so I need new 36 mm however I think its 31mm.
2. I cannot seem to get the license plate light to pop off, i think I may have damanged the bumper a bit. it seems to come with it... can someone please help me with how to on that? it doesn't look like it pops off...
3. The rear trunk light I took the original light off to measure again but it wouldn't go on anymore..maybe i blew a fuse?
4. Mirror bulbs, I cannot figure out how to get them out, same goes for rear interior lights. I don't want to damage anything so please help me
BTW the single CREE with cover bulb from superlumination is perfect for footwells just the right amount of white light.
Thanks in advance

To get at the license plate bulb you remove the lamp assembly by inserting a small screwdriver (the Green line in the drawing) and have to catch the tab (circled in red) and ease out the assembly by prying it out of the bumper, The tab is on the right side of the bulb assembly where there is a Small opening. Hope this explains it.

front footwells - 194/168 bulbs, 1 per well
front overhead lights - 3 x 194/168 ( there are two tabs in the front and two on the sides, you have to sort of nudge them out)
rear footwells -- 36mm festoon bulbs, 1 per well
rear overhead lights - 2 x 194/168
rear license plate - 2 x 194/168
Trunk - 41mm festoon bulb
So using another_geek's list. here is the parts list from
superlumination.com
Note: My front foot well and license plates use a single CREE since I wanted the ambience but if you want bright bright you can use the SMT Tower
Front footwell: I used | 2 | T10 Wedge ($2.99 each)
> > > > Item # Cree Xbd With Cover | Color: Super White - Dint want to put too many LED's to heat up the plastic.
Rear Foot well - Remmeber you would have to work the holder a bit since these bulbs have a more sharper edge but it works
> > > > | 2 | Festoon Bulb

Interior front and back dome lights

Rear license plate - 2 T10 Wedge #CREE xbd with cover
I used the same as the front foot well since I wanted a nice warm white and not too many LED's.
Trunk light - I ended up buying a 41mm pilot from Orielly's local store 9.99, works great.
