Default Rear Lower Arm Bushing

Hi,
Did anyone replace the rear lower arm bushing before? Can we replace the bushing only or need to change the whole arm?

Can you help us with what car you have?
Year, model maybe what engine it has?

Why are you changing it?
What's wrong?
They are not a common replacement part.

I had to have two replaced on my first X350 car, and the X351 is the same suspension. It is also found on the Lincoln LS. In m y view a poor design as suspension bushes should really last a lot longer. It is early wear on fairly simple parts like this that has given Jaguar a bit of a bad name, as wear and tear is normally not warranted, and some owners had to replace these within the warranty period !

Here's a couple of UK suppliers, there are probably US ones too: -

You can also buy the bushes: -

Hi,

I'm driving a X351, 2010 XJL Supersport.
There is very loud squeky noise from my rear right lower arm bushing (rear bushing). I try to source out the bush cause the local Jaguar never sell the bushes.

That's a good price for the entire control arm and I would go with that. You can press bushings in and out but for that price you get all 3 bushings already installed.
Then just bolt the arm on.

With one side making noise and the price of that lower control arm I would consider replacing both lower arms at the same time.

You need to make absolutely sure it is the lower arm. Dry steel ball joints, as per the rear upper arm can squeak. The bushes on the lower arm are not steel.

Prior to purchasing a 2009 XF, there was a 2000 Lincoln LS in our "family fleet" for 9 years. Never had any suspension "wear out" issues, despite being driven through "road salt" laden winter roads....

Glad to see another Lincoln LS guy on here!
I had a 2003 V-8 sport and no suspension troubles either. Had it about 7 years and 130K miles.
But sway bar bushings and end links front and rear were a common wear/noise point on the LS just like the Jaguar's.

It's just a common part that wears out on many cars.

Hi. New here. Can anyone help or advise. I have a 2010 X351 XJ6 3.0 Diesel which recently went through a thorough check at Jaguar, with a list of items to do. I have done most things but was going to replace rear lower control arms. I undid the strut lower mounting, the stabilizer bar, the bottom hub bolt and then proceeded to loosen the two bolts that attach the arm to the rear subframe. The bolts came undone easily but after removing the plastic wheel arch liner I couldn't see a way of removing the from bolt without dropping the subframe. Equally, it appears that both the front and the back bolt have a nut with an arm that stops it rotating (allowing it to be undone and tightened from just one end) and whilst the front nut is accessible, allowing it to be put back on easily, the rear one appears to be inside the subframe, but with no access except a very small hole in the top of the subframe that I can hardly get my finger in. If I remove the bolt, I cannot see any way of getting the nut lined up and on to the bolt again for reassembly with the new lower arm in place. Am I missing something or does the whole subframe need to be dropped to do this simple job?
