Remote Starter

I found a company out of Chicago,IL Called Midwest City Engineering that is able to install a remote starter on the 2012 - 2015 Jaguar XJ.
The starter operates with one remote that will allow you to lock and unlock doors and trunk. It has a download operation that also allows you to control these features from your phone. The cost including labor is $1,600.00.
They show a 2012 Jaguar XJ that they have installed the starter on and its operation on You Tube. All the reviews that I have read on the company are very good as they work with allot of high end brands.
My only concern is the fact that allot of wires have to be cut to make this install and I am just curious about the long time effect that this could have on the operation of the car and other electronic components.
I am also concerned about the three hour trip that I would have to make to Chicago if there was a problem. I had this feature on my Buick LaCrosse P1 that I traded for this car and it really came in hand, especially when I thought I may not have locked my car and I could perform this task from my phone along with some other nice features.
I am also thinking that perhaps the $1,600 can be saved and used toward the purchase of a Jag XJ in the future that will have the remote start already installed as the 2016 will.
Many thoughts and prayers for the people in Paris France, this is truly a bad situation.

I'd like to have this option too since it's on the wife's Buick and also have the remote start on the GMC truck; BUT, will have to be content w/ the current setup on the '12 XJL.
If you can wait and find a '16 w/ very low miles and at the right price that's the route to consider.

I miss some of the features that I had on the LaCrosse but they are all things that I can live without.

Thank you, as that is the way that I am leaning. It is funny but my LaCrosse had some things that I would have thought the Jaguar would have had, over all I have no complaints.

With the current XJL body style I don't think the other luxos can compete insofar as the lines of this body style. It gets more attention than the competition, but, more buyers are expecting that Jaguar will have more techno stuff.

My LaCrosse was equipped with,Remote Start with iPhone APP, Surround Sound, Collision Avoidance, Lane Departure andAdaptive Lighting.
With the cost of the Jaguar XJ you would think that some of these features would have been on it. I know that there will be some changes to the 2016 but I just hope it is not to little to late.
