This one from eBay doesn't have the foolproof plugs on each end, but eBay would probably honor your return if non-functional. Maybe somebody here has purchased from this vendor and can comment.
If you get one, let us know about your experinece.

The original device was sold by Jez, a UK Jaguar enthusiast who has since passed away. His product had color-coded connectors on all leads, which you can see by scrolling to images posted by early adopters. This made for a ten-minute install that couldn't be misunderstood, because the connectors could only be plugged into the correct receptacle. The unit I linked above appears to have wire leads, so some cutting and splicing should be expected, along with the possibility of error.
Assuming the product works as intended, this should not be a deal-breaker, but installation requires some wire splicing skills and a clear wiring diagram supplied by the vendor.
From the very many images posted earlier in this thread I believe it would be possible to create an electrical diagram of Jez device and how it works. Have anyone done that yet and can publish it here? Otherwise I am planning to do that sometime in the future when I get some spare time.
I have now reverse engineered the Jez module based on the images previously published. The function is rather simple. It is basically to create a connection to ground through a tilt switch (yellow wire) at the output (blue wire), sending a signal to close the trunk. This is achieved only when the lid is open (because of the tilt switch) and when a 12V pulse to the input (brown wire) is provided in order to open the trunk, for example when using the key fob.
Info below regarding the used connectors:
The connection to ground through the not used connector pin C4PL17A/4 is a guess, and any other ground can most certainly be used. The tilt switch can probably also be placed elsewhere.
