removal of "Portfolio" insert on fender badge
I dislike this insert on my 2012 XJ and would like to remove it. Does anyone have an exploded image of the Jaguar badge and Portfolio insert?
The Portfolio badge probably has two or three plastic studs traversing the Jaguar badge. Snapping off this insert would leave the stubs, but that part of the badge is black, and the P badge is probably black plastic, too. The alternative is to remove the fender liners and access the complete badge from the rear. How difficult is this? I'm used to having similar fasteners break while attempting to remove.

Yes you can remove the insert badges - they are heat staked on from behind so you will need to remove the trim to do so. As mentioned above you just remove the rear of the wheel arch liner and you can get a 10mm ratchet spanner in there to easily remove them (don't drop the 4 nuts!).
You will end up with two holes. Personally, having done this in reverse to take my old autobiography inserts off of silver trims to mount them into replacement black pack trims, I think you would always notice the two holes even with sealant closing them. The holes are bigger than you'd think.
Have you considered selling yours intact on eBay or similar, and just buying the far more common variant without the badges? You would likely make a little money on the difference.
