Here are 4 injectors and the fuel rail. Only a small portion of the injector will be visible after you remove the fuel rail.

I could not get my hands around the fuel rail because of limited space. I used zip ties to create loops for me to grip so I could pull out the fuel rail. After you remove the 4 bolts, the only thing holding it in place is the injector o-rings.

The tip of the injector has built up carbon that makes it hard to remove. This is a fairly clean injector.

This is the portion of the injector that creates some additional resistance. This metal sleeve fits in the injector bore fairy tight. However it is loose enough to allow dust and dirt to accumulate. This makes it even harder to remove. Before you remove any of the injectors, blow out this area with compressed air and then add a bit of penetrating oil. Rotate the injector in the bore a bit to help loosen it up. It can spin freely in the bore without causing damage.

This is the recommended tool for pulling out the injectors. If the engine is out of the car, this tool is great. I found that I could only fit it on a couple of injectors because the engine compartment was too tight.

It slips over the injector end and is held in place with a collar. This is not easy to connect in my opinion. It also scratched up the injector o-ring area.

Instead I used two zip ties to pull the injector. One around the o-ring and another to create a loop for pulling. I was able to hook a pick into the loop for additional leverage. Don’t forget to remove the zip ties before you reinstall the injector. However, I suggest replacing the injector.

Here is the teflon seal that must be replaced when reusing injectors. In my opinion, you should replace the injectors since you have them out. They can be had for about $100. Considering the amount of pressure they are under and the common carbon build up, its cheap insurance to replace them now.
