Without the Leaper emblem in the back and the rectangular grille in the front I could not tell it's a Jaguar. And I am not fond of the tiny greenhouse in today's new cars that rely on 'electronic aids' to see out the windows. Ridiculous.

Default I like the brand identity thing...

I have no problems about Jag being consistent, much like Benz. Otherwise you end up with crap that looks like Lexus, all over the place. You should be able to look at a Jag--any Jag, and say "that's a Jag and it's gorgeous", period, no matter which Jag. Of course, we all know XJ is the big cat in the den...grrrrrrr

the article says, "additional model lines, rather than new body styles of existing cars, are being investigated."

You mean like some new letter followed by the "X" or "F"? Perhap an even smaller CUV and roadster, or a minivan/truck?!? How about bringing back the XK.

The low-volume XJ looks dated already thanks to the 'brand ID' dilution by its look-alike stablemates. Too bad, just as I was starting to warm up to its looks vis-a-vis the Classic XJ8.
