So now the question is what to do about it. Wheels from Jaguar cost a fortune. I have seen them used in sets on Craigslist for about a grand.

I would look at getting all 4 wheels refurbished.

You also have the option to potentially upgrade to a better forged setup for all 4 wheels. Hopefully they let you keep your old tires so you could have a set for when one breaks. I live in Milwaukee, have had to buy 4 new wheels in my 2 year ownership from cracks. OEMs are no match for these roads

so, tomorrow i will pick up the car with the latest set of tires (the michelins)....and return the Contis

Im not sure exactly what I am going to do about the rims. I dont mind going aftermarket, but im SUPER picky, and im going to need to spend some time looking for the right aftermarket rims. Option 2: just repair the ones i have now and suck it up.

Straightened ("remanufactured") cast alloy rims are never as strong as they were originally, particularly if cracks have been welded. You may get lucky, but if you hit a pothole you're going to need new rims. And yes, forged rims are much stronger than cast rims, but they're far more expensive.

I suggest that you look at the rims available from Forum sponsors such as Coventry Wheels. They're exclusively for Jaguar, have the proper offset and are available in various designs and colors. I don't know if they offer forged rims, but if they don't they're not as costly as OEM wheels to replace

These are Coventry Ashford 19" forged rims. You can use your growler centers , stock lug nuts and TPMS. I have had them about a month and I really enjoy them. They were less than 400 a wheel and I got them at Discount tire.

+1 for Coventry wheels.
These are the Coventry Whitley "hypersilver" staggered 20" ones I put on my XFS and then moved to the XFR:

Might keep an eye out for XJR rims?
My 2014 XJR has forged 20" staggered rims stock. Not great roads anywhere these days and never bent anything so far at 42K miles?
Forged is more bend resistant.

UPDATE!!! Picked up the car from service yesterday and the car actually feels SIGNIFICANTLY better. Most importantly the steering wheel no longer shakes. I pushed it all the way to 120 and it stayed still.

does it drive 100% perfect? No. But it doesn’t vibrate as bad anymore. At this point you can feel that a rim or 2 are bad, but it’s nothing compared to how it used to feel, I can comfortably drive around with people without them immediately feeling like something is wrong.

The bill from jag? $530 for mounting the new tires ($50 per wheel), and doing all the tests I asked for (road force and wheel swap to validate that it’s not a mechanical issue). It was a much easier pill to swallow once I actually drove it and felt it was a better ride. Also the peace of mind.

but then....later that night, a check engine light came on I think it might be gas related because I filled up gas earlier in the day. Will probably create a new thread for that if it persists.

the michelins i have supposedly measured with 30-ish lbs of road force. in all fairness, i know what you mean...but this definitely feels like a bad rim, you can lightly feel it at lower speeds (because im being super **** and very attentive, most people wont notice). and even the dealer said, 3 out of 4 rims were bad. the 4th rim got fixed when i first test drove the car because i made a big deal to the sales man that they were super scratched up

Not that unusual on a car that has sat on the lot. Mine will do it when it's been parked overnight sometimes. I noticed it Monday morning driving to work, after doing a long highway trip Sunday. It's these 3 season tires with soft compound.

Worst case is this :

Drive at freeway speeds on a warm day. Tires become very soft and pliable. The hotter the weather, the more pronounced the effect.
Park and leave it for several days. The tires cool down, and set in the parked condition. Effect is most pronounced the colder it is at night.
Next time you drive it, it will shake like crazy UNTIL the tires have warmed up enough to become pliable again. Might take several miles at freeway speeds. If you're unlucky, the weather is cold. Might be hard to get them warm enough.

What can you do about it?

Live with it.
Change the tires for all seasons, they're not as soft which helps.
Jack up the car every time you park it.
Buy a set of Flat Stoppers for the garage. They are shaped plastic ramps that you park on.

They're now thinking i may need new axles (car only has 27k miles).

wanted to get your opinions, could the be the case? or could it be something worse (AWD system or something). there's no errors displaying on the dash.

The shaking feeling is definitely most present in the front and in the steering wheel....not so much the rear

The mechanic is telling me its probably not worth me spending my money to have them investigate it, they have no idea, could be the driveshaft, axels, blah blah.....take it to the shop that would do any of the warranty work (if covered). the service center for the dealership i bought my car from is about an hour away....i can probably take it next friday just to hear them tell me its not covered under their limited warranty. so we'll see. the saga continues
It could be buckled rims. I have the same problem. Brand new tyres. Tested it with new rims and vibration was gone...
