Default Sound system occasionally crackles and cuts out for a second

Hi all,

As above, the sound system (happens with iPod and DAB, presumably stored CDs too) it will make a crackling noise and cut out, comes back very quickly though, maybe only lose it for a second

Anyone know what could be causing this?

Hi Mate

If your car has tv function as mine does then its a result of digital tv broadcast update that has affected the XJ's with gen 2.1 tv's, Dealer is waiting for a software update to be released to resolve the issue.

You could set your tv to USA and have no TV untill its fixed

Hi,

Ahh okay, how do I know if I have the gen 2.1 tvs? It has TVs, don't know what gen though... Or if I have TVs... And a crackling issue, it is most likely going to be this issue?

How long has the issue been a known problem? So just wondering roughly when a fix would be available from Jaguar

Thanks!

I think you're right, I turned the TV settings to USA and the crackling seems to have stopped

Now just need to wait for an update from jaguar

I have the same issue and it only started about three weeks ago or so, looking on the uk forum showed me I was not alone. I went in and saw the dealer and they told me jaguar were working on a fix. It also effects range rovers etc as well. They also said to switch to American area to avoid it but I have left it for now as I watch more tv than listen to the radio.

The fix is out in the UK. I had mine done last week. No issues at all so far, everything works as it did before.

Hi,

Just rang my dealer who said to take it in, and we will do it on the spot. (Good service)

Let you know later today if it works.
