Achh-
my mistake, sorry.
I mistook your post for lolshto and his problem noise.
Did you hear the noise from the video I uploaded to YouTube?
Did you have the same noise or it was different? I really want to have that problem solved finally, but I have no idea where to search.

I couldn't really hear anything distinguishable on your video.
It's easy to check your front suspension for the noise, by opening the hood and looking at & listening to the top shock mount while bouncing the front of the car up & down.
If the top nut & bolt are bouncing around within the center, the shock mount and bearing need to be replaced.
And if the metal is rubbing when you do it, you'll hear the squeaking.
I have been considering selling the Jaguar and reverting to a Ford pick-up truck because at least THERE I know how to find where the "dry speedometer cable" noise is coming from.
I could just kiss your face. !!!!
I have been searching for the chirping under the driver's side (left drive) of the dashboard for two weeks and I have a mess to clean-up from all the spray-lubricant I've tried to employ to rid my beautiful ride of this HIDEOUSLY ANNOYING noise.
After finding the account of your experience with the shock-tower, I think I've found the answer.
I'm flattered, but if it helps you and anyone else find a phantom noise without undo anxiety, that's the best compliment I could hope for.
I hope that ends the mystery of where the noise is coming from for you.
Just had my upper mounts and isolators replaced as I had a harsh ride and rattle in the dash over choppy roads. Feels like new and was replaced under my Assurant Extended Warranty that i bought in 2015.

Thank you for posting this! I am having the exact same issue on my '14 XJR
Were the 2 part numbers you listed (C2D51875, C2D16903), the only things you needed to correct this?
Thanks!
Yes, those are the 2 wear items.
There are other wear items of the suspension that you could replace while you have it apart to replace the mounts - maybe even the shock absorbers if they're old and you want fresh ones.
Control arms have to be disconnected and reconnected, could do those too.
But for the squeak and chirp, only the two basic parts.
As XJsss said, yo may prefer to replace all fasteners too, but I only replaced the wear items.
Okay, so ya'll figured out the chirping sound was the upper shock mount... I did too a couple of years ago... and changed it. I've put about 10k miles on the car and the right shock mount is off center and making the chirp again. Have you guys found these wear out quick? or did I just get a bad one??
these were factory. From what I can read, there is an aftermarket upgrade, but it is hard to believe the right side went that quick. This car gets 4 to 5,000 miles per year...
Thanks for all this information guys!
I've got the squeaking and chirping too and was already prepared to tare the dash down, but I changed that plan now to bouncing the left front of the car with the hood up while watching the mount one of these days.
That squeaking sound from "behind the dash", in my case sounds like a plastic sound, is that correct?
Mine always sounds like a bird chirping... just the same chirp over and over. The longer you go without changing the mount, the louder and longer the chirp... I replaced the right side only this time, as the left side is still centered and isn't making the sound as it stopped by changing just the one... I have another new one when it moves and starts...
I like birds, always have, I had some tropical ones when I was a kid, feels like coming home now, driving this car.
They even made a song about that.
The rattle is more annoying.
Yes, I will also order two if I have to order one anyway.
I assume right and left are the same articles, same numbers, no?
Correcting my earlier comments, yes, I do have the already mentioned chirping, but just a little and just once in a while. But I don't have the squeaking (yet).
Instead of this squeaking I have a plastic sounded rattle when I drive over little bumps.
Therefore I thought about something in or at the dash. Sounds like some plastic part is loose in there.
So I would think that plastic sound, much more annoying than the little chirping, has nothing to do with the shocks. Agree?
Does this plastic sound looks familiar to any of you?
So, once the parts are replaced is there any front end alignment or some electronic thing that the JAG monitors in the suspension system that needs to have some type of reset....re-adjustment....or is it simply (Ha, nothing simple on our Jags..) a mechanical issue? Mine has the same thing and I want to have all the info when I take it in to be fixed so they don't try to add on a thousand other items that are not part of this......thanks so much for finding it......Another Fine Engineering achievement by those illustrious JAGUAR Engrs.....And they get paid good $$$ to make this crap.......just amazing.....and only 45k on the dang car....

Since the front suspension is being removed & reinstalled the alignment really does need to be done, although hopefully (& often, from my experiences) it ends-up being in or very close to alignment tolerances.
BUT if it isn't, you'll go through expensive tires & wear other bushings badly.
Make sure they don't tighten/torque suspension control arm fasteners until they're fully loaded with the weight on the wheels.
I would expect the mechanic to suggest a number of other suspension parts to be replaced, since other wear-out items get removed & replaced at least partially in the process; such as control arms & other (say bar for example) bushings too.
And you should expect & want to get those replaced - they do wear and don't last forever.
If you have questions for more detail on what to replace, what to expect, etc., instead of asking us to re-write it all again here specifically for you, read through this whole post & search for the several other posts related to the same issue - all the details are in here.
I've been doing a bit of well-earned refresh replacements on both my wife's 2012 XJ and my 2012 Land Rover Range Rover (same engine), and every time I tear into them I find that the design isn't too bad - actually pretty impressive usually for what it is and does.
Granted, there are some things that could have been done better, but many parts & things wear & need to be replaced.
But for example replacing valve cover gaskets & cooling system parts that age/wear, it's put together pretty good for a tightly-packaged engine compartment.
And the JLR Topix tech support manuals/tools (SDD) help greatly.
Just ordered all the parts for $505.00 to ship here. I found a local auto shop who will install them for $308 plus tax in 2 hours.......Much better than the $1,500 that my regular auto shop quoted.......kinda makes me wonder.....time to switch....
