Default Sticky or low brakes

Hey guys I just bought XJL 2012 Like an hour ago while I was driving this amazing car I notice that brake foot padel is very soft and it like goes all the way down and it stays there for a sec or so and then push back. Also I notice is I can't do emergency brakes as it will not stop immediately and have to do like 3 or 4 pumps to build it up. Any advise in this mater is very appreciated

That's an easy one to diagnose - that's what happens at the point 97 applications of the brake pedal before it goes all the way to the floor, the car refuses to slow, and smashes into whatever and whomever is in front of it.
The 97-applications-of-the-brake part is a variable, as it's technically 97 (or was it 9.7, or maybe 0.97) times that brakes are applied with the vehicle speed in excess of 27 or 49 MPH, or a combined sum thereof.

Take it to a dealership, good independent Jaguar specialist, or at least a brake shop.
And you should scour this forum and others extensively and read-up on what you just bought an hour ago.

And feel free to visit the introduction page of the forum, and add some helpful details to your profile & signature so that each time you post a question we don't have to guess what year, engine, body, trim level you're asking about, or what area of the world you're looking for supplier, body shop or mechanic advice for.

And Welcome To "THE FORUM"!

Abbas, because of where you live, the brake fluid will become very hot quite often. So, I would say to find a quality independent mechanic and ask him to do a fluid change on your brakes. Part of what you are feeling could be simply old fluid. part of it could be simply low fluid level. But, most likely it is due to air bubbles in the brake lines. By putting new fluid in the brake system, they should flush all the old fluid out the brake caliper vent which will then push all the air out. This will give you a better feel in the brake pedal and let you do the emergency stops like you may need to do.

If that does not fix the issue, then we have bigger issues. Let us know then and we can give you some more simple tests to do so we can get a better idea of what is going on with your car.

A code reader will not be useful for a soft brake pedal. Take it to a brake shop. Maybe it's a bad master cylinder? But get the car to someone who will actually look at the car and the brakes. It will take some investigation to find the problem.

If you have spongy pedal you have air in the brake system. Flush, mechanical check, and identification if you have a leak will solve your issue. Code readers don't do anything for mechanical systems that don't carry sensors with CAN feedback.

You mentioned sticky brakes so the calipers should be checked as well.

Thank guys for the reply mean alot. I will take to an independent specialist garage tomorrow and report back. However today I took the car for spin wanted to test the power so accelerated it a bit hard with padel shifters after a mint or so car throws up the restricted power message and was miss firing and vibrating alot. However just switched it and turned it back on it was fine the error was. As it is 2012 I am not sure. But however still would like to ask what are the symptoms of bad timing chain or what does it sounds like don't want to take any risks. If it needs replacement will do it better the car is XJL 2012 5.0

Abbas, if you think someone poured a bunch of rocks into your engine when it is idling, you have a timing chain issue. Much before then, you have to pull the cover and check for tightness. As you can imagine, the check for tightness can get a little pricy.

Yes but do start a new thread? This one is about brakes and we have a ton of timing chain stuff already posted.
It's a BIG subject!
