Survey: Water Pump Replaced?

Water Pump Part Number Summary
I thought it would be helpful to list the water pump part numbers in chronological order, with the newest version last.
C2Z29189 - Installed in my 2013 XJ on 12/4/2014 (so far, so good but I keep my eye on my OBDII/Torque temperature gauge)
C2Z31146 - Installed in johndalheimer's 2011 XJ on 8/11/2015 (embossed with Land Rover logo)
C2Z31587 - Installed in polyesterpig's 2011 XJ on 11/18/2015
If your water pump fails, make sure your dealer installs the latest version.

Got my water pump replaced twice already. First time, around 25,000 miles on it. 2nd time, just 2 days back with 32,000 miles. Pump was fine the second time - apparently the outlet pipe started leaking coolant onto the serpentine belt. Both covered by warranty. My car is a 2012 XJ SWB NA.

2013 XJ V6-AWD water pump replaced at 18,511 miles, 3 years in service (March 2016). Dealer noticed leaking coolant. New unit part #C2Z31587. Still smell antifreeze 3 weeks later although fluid level has not gone down. If smell does not dissipate soon (currently assuming it is residual burn off) we will likely take it back in for a pressure test.

Walter Pump Replaced
Just had my water pump replaced on our 2011 XJ S/C under CPO warranty. No smell of coolant apparent.
Car was at dealer for 96000km. service (actual odometer reading 82800km.) and was checking supercharger for end play and could see low coolant level in the overflow tank. Pressure test revealed the w/p seal leak.

Read my post #1 - all it took was coolant smell. The tech found the tell-tale drip signs and replaced the water pump under warranty.

Why doesn't Jaguar just change every f.....g water pump and crossover pipe in all 5.0 engines after 2010? We all know they are crap and will fail sooner or later and have probably been seeping coolant since day one. Not right... This is one reason I would never buy another Jaguar after my XK. Lexus or Toyota would never try to push this under the rug and takes care of issues as they arise. That is why Toyota/Lexus is where they are and Jaguar/Landrover is where they are.....at the bottom...Too bad.. A Luxury brand but inferior customer service. There is a saying.....Any car is only as good as the service it gets. Bingo.
