Tire Rack very bad experiences
Just FYI - Tire rack seemingly are no longer what they once were. I messaged on their chat service and called them as I had an urgent need to replace my X351 tires after one of the run flats burst. Yet I could not get any good customer service or advice at any point, over more than one day of trying. I thought might be just bad luck and so called back but it was the same with different people. What was notable was the chat service or tech line folks no longer drive the tires, and so you no longer speak to the testers. They stopped it after COVID but no intention to return. I also received diametrically opposite advice on the same tires, which really shocked me. (the service was also short and rude, like trying to get blood out of a stone or more akin to a used car sales type of experience.) First guy said "x" about one of the specific tires I was considering, which completely contradicted what one of them had told me six months or so ago about that very tire and then the next guy contradicted that again. When I politely pointed out the contradictions (plural), I was met with one word rude answers and was told 'Pirellis are better than Michelins'. It was a complete waste of time. Its certainly not the helpful place it once was.
I'm done with Tre Rack, 100% opposite of how helpful Discount Tre were last time I went there.

Agree with you 100%. Its all so bizarre to me; it's almost like you have to walk on eggshells to get good customer service even though you are the one, in this case, about to spend many hundreds of dollars. BTW, if I may ask, what tires do you have on yours right now? I'm deciding effectively between 4 choices: - replacing the front P Zero PZ4 with non run flats ; either A) Pirelli P7 AS Plus 3 (or the earlier iteration AS Plus II's) grand touring tires for (hopefully) a great ride, or B) risking on slightly older model P Zero All Seasons, or C) great reviews on newer Pirelli Scorpion AS Plus 3, or D) very good reviews on Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 (but some say slightly harder ride - some say good ride). I may also try Continental DWS 06 plus... I basically hate feeling the bumps, that is # 1 priority, but would like to retain as much handling as I can, if possible.

I'm one of those runflat haters. They are horrible and I always remove them from any car that comes with them from the factory. Switching to regular tires will give you a huge boost in comfort compared to the worst tires possible.

Agree with both of you. Companies natiowide seem to be adopting what I call "Cell phone marketing strategy". They spend all of their resources trying for new customers, because they "know" that a certain percentage of their customers, along with their competitors, are going to switch carriers as soon as practical. It's a race to the bottom, to see who can boast the best deal. I learned decades ago that it costs way more to obtain a new customer than to keep the ones you have. Sadly, BODs and shareholders are looking for sexy metrics like Total Available Market, etc. I'm glad I retired!
I've had Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus for about 25k, and they are still grippy, comfortable and quiet, but I don't use this car in the snow. As you evaluate brands and models, remember that you can only rotate L/R, so I'd steer away from tires with a directional tread pattern. Also, if you haven't already, now's the time to replace those TPMS. You used to be able to refurbish these with a new battery, but manufacturers decided to make more money by sealing them. There I go again, up on my soapbox ...
