Touch screen repair
Hi,
I have got a CW93 touch screen unit with some damage. The ribbon cable connecting the screen with the computing unit is burned. I have ordered a replacement cable now and want to try to repair the unit. Unfortunately some components are burned as well and they can not be identified anymore.
Does anybody have such a unit lying around and could take a photo of the damaged components for me? Or is there even some technical information regarding that device available? It is hard to figure out if the components burned because the cable had an isolation problem or if the components caused the cable tu burn.
The first picture shows the components that are burned, see orange circles. Especially the two larger ones on the right side are definitely defect. What are (or better: have been ;-) ) those components?
The next picture shows two resistors that are "slightly burned". Just 33 mOhm. Not too hard to replace these.
After receiving the new cable and doing some repair I would like to connect the unit to my bench power supply instead of the "real Jag". By looking and measuring I assume the unit is powered with 12V by the gray connector, as seen on the picture below. Can anyone confirm this?
Best Regards
Thomas
