Type of differential on 2014 3.0 SC XJL
I am trying to identify the type of differential on my 2014 3.0 SC XJL for the differential oil change, it looks like below. Is it open or Limited slip? Also what is the the function of the highlighted part in the picture.
Any recommendations for the oil also welcome.

Any quality 75W90 should do, I went with Liqui Moly.

Thanks @Vasara @clubairth1 for the reply, I do not see any wires going into my diff, It would mean that it is an open diff.

Maybe just maybe the XJ mirrored this, ie 340 PS version with open diff and 380 PS version with mechanical LSD, but did the XJ come with both versions of the V6???? I suspect it only came with the 340 PS version.
There are some threads and posts in the F-Type sub-forum about the different F-Type diff specs but I'm not sure if many or even any pics are included.

Thanks for the picture and it looks like that is an open rear diff? Sorry don't have anything from Jaguar saying one way or the other.
Here is a long thread and Jaguar used an open diff for the non-SC XF.
XF Rear Diff Oil
BUT you have an XJ and NOT an XF? So may not apply?

Thanks @clubairth1 , The XJ's were sold in V6 AWD configurations in NA, the V8's were RWD.
I am planning to use Valvoline 75w-90 with LS additive, which should work for both open and LSD diffs.

Sorry for the double post above!
Yes I think for an open rear diff you will be fine. I am a fan of synthetic too but it is not a requirement.
One thing a bit different with Jaguar is put in the volume of oil Jaguar says to. ALL other rear diffs I have worked on you always fill it until it runs out the fill port.
Why does Jaguar say this? I don't know and the funny thing at least on my XJR is the right amount of fluid is ALMOST up to the edge of the fill port anyway?
Seemed too small of a difference to even matter.

Well you made me look!
If you have a Topix account you can get what Jaguar calls the "Vehicle Summary". A very detailed list of what you car has and what it does not have. Kind of what I call a build sheet. On my 2014 XJR that does have the E-Diff there is nothing mentioned in the entire document about the rear diff? Which does seem strange. But again on the SC 5.0L V-8 you only could get the E-Diff there were no other options.
So I don't know if it will be shown there or not?
