Default Unconnected Vacuum Hose at Back Of Engine?

Working on removing the Symposer and replacing the rear water manifold. 5.0L SC Engine-2014 XJR.
Found this hard vacuum line running back under the transmission tunnel towards the back of the car. The top of it comes up almost dead center of the car and has a small wire tie keeping in place but the end is just open? The wire tie is attached to the metal bracket holding the large wire harness that's above the Symposer.

I don't find anything that might connect to it and don't see anything in the manuals which does not mean much.

Can anyone identify this? Have you seen this before?

What makes you think it's a vacuum line? What vacuum system has a vent? That doesn't make any sense.

That looks to me like a vent for the transmission that is raised up and bent over to avoid water getting into the vent.

The transmission has a vent? I did not know that and maybe I can find it in the manual under transmission?
Trying to figure out what it's for.

Every transmission has a vent. The air and fluid inside the case expands and contracts with temperature changes. Without a vent, the seals would be damaged and leak. Many cars just have the vent right on top, which is what lets water into the transmission when people drive in high water. But many have a vent that raises up to reduce the likelihood of water getting in while driving in high water. All transfer cases and differentials also have vents.

These have raised vent tubes for just about everything. I 2nd our friend from Texas's idea that it's a vent, especially with that shape.
I just put my 2012 Range Rover with the same engine back together after replacing the head gaskets & cam chain drive stuff & saw 3 vent tubes coming up behind the engine - one of them for the starter motor!.

Quick question: if we have these open air vents, don't we have a moisture issue of humidity getting into the fluid just like the issue of having to change brake fluid because it gets contaminated?

Yes. Change all your fluids regardless of the “filled for life” nonsense.
